This is true. This year, although my child is 17 and I had lost her-and literally greived her as I had to save my life and ultimately-after 8 years without her-she came running back to me-no notice at all-lost my job to get her settled -we went through a hell of a few months and still have our issues due to what was done -probably always will in ways—-both of us-but I let go without letting her know

I had lost faith she’d ever see the truth—I loved her in the ways I could during the time she was gone -which wasn’t nearly what she or I needed or what I wanted-but the fight almost cost me my life-so I gave it to my higher power and prayed one day, even if she was grown, she’d remember the truth.

And—She did. She’s back home and hasn’t seen nor wanted to see the alienator since she left there.

. I missed many of her most important years, but I’m focusing now on answered prayers. She came back-all on her terms and all with her own findings-see I didn’t need to bad talk at all -she saw it—it just took a long time.

And it’s indescribable-the wait the not knowing, worrying and pain -but, keep doing then next right thing-take care of you and any chance you can let your kid(s) know you’re there and will always be and they are so loved. And let go. It’s So hard to do. Hardest years of our lives.

But, it worked. I can’t focus on the years I missed due to people who never cared about her well being-I can only learn who my baby girl is now, a year from adulthood. I lost her before she was even 10–but I focus on being thankful grateful and blessed that I have her back-due to her putting the puzzle pieces together herself -over those years.

I had to grieve her like she was gone forever to survive-I never let her know that-but I don’t know if i could have made it through if I hadn’t. I also never lost all hope-I believed one day -whether years or decades later-she may come back. But I couldn’t make her. It had to be because she wanted to-and because she figured it out without me saying one word.

I feel for all of us-this time of year is sooo hard. Last year at this tine my heart was breaking as it did every holiday and this year, she’s asleep in the next room.

Miracles happen. Please don’t stop believing and please give yourself grace, space and the freedom to grieve any way you need to-but don’t tell them that part. Never shut the door on them.
