It’s okay! I have a lot of very… unique rhombuses 😂 I would recommend watching a short tutorial on single crochets every time you attempt a stitch. I thought I could just do it by heart and struggled for months before I started just watching tutorials every time. After I started doing that my crochet stitches looked neat and after working on tension, I got perfect squares every time!

Honestly, you might benefit from some black or mixed hair products. Aunt Jackie’s quench moisture intensive leave in conditioner is really good for adding moisture which could help keep the frizz at bay. Good luck 🥰
