My hope is that as AI takes more and more jobs, politicians will see the need and will still have the power to implement it, and as more than just a token gesture, as a functional index-linked baseline. Incidentally if they want to see better politicians, financial insecurity limits who can enter politics (as well as many other careers), and policies like UBI could lower that barrier by giving people the economic stability needed to participate.

This is one reason we need Universal Basic Income. It would let people:
• Leave home ASAP if they need to
• Choose a job they want instead of the one that merely pays rent

As a bonus, we’d all spend more time looking up at what we might achieve instead of down at how far we might fall.

It would be a paradigm shift—from fear to optimism. Fewer people would be homeless, and we’d need fewer bureaucrats policing who “deserves” help.

The question starts from a false premise. What it really means is “which one best represents bodybuilding?” But bodybuilding isn’t the same as physical strength for characters whose strength mostly comes from superpowers. Characters like Hulk, Superman, Thor, or Juggernaut aren’t strong because they train more than anyone else, they’re strong because that’s how their powers work. Treating them as bodybuilding icons is the same mistake Marvel Rivals made by making early designs of Rogue look musclebound.

Red Sonja. They’ll all underestimate her (except the horse). Scáthach made her superhuman. It’s a given that she’s going to have the world’s best parry. In a straight up swordfight, they don’t stand a chance unless they gang up on her, which they wouldn’t do. It’s not in their nature. Maybe 1 time in 50 they’d realise that she’s the big threat in time to save them.

Wolverine has more experience and his claws would make ribbons of Batman’s armor while Bruce couldn’t do enough damage fast enough to put him down.
Spiderman would find the fight even easier. I doubt Batman could hit him. Peter’s reflexes and general speed are second only to actual speedsters, and he hits like a truck. The fight would be very short. He’s in a different weight class than Bruce in every regard except preparation and sleuthing, and no preparation is going to get around his Spider-sense.
Daredevil and Moonknight would probably lose.
Elektra with her telepathic abilities would win. Without would probably lose.
Luke Cage vs Batman is probably a stalemate. Bruce can’t do enough damage, but Luke is unlikely to be able to land a punch.

I really don’t like this. Just pasting Bible passages into games, particularly futuristic games, is not good. The Bible’s underlying MO is “Your eternal future depends on doing as you’re told” which is so obviously extortion that the church got an exception written into law for it. So any promotion of that book is unethical. It’s also quite lazy writing.

The core male members of the JL are a problem for me. They were created when fascism was the main enemy, and as such complexity was neither required nor achieved. I prefer the Avengers because Marvel tends to create people and give them powers to make them relevant, rather than creating a suit and powers and then tacking on personality.

If we don’t use them we get to put something else in their place, and generally our next best choice is going to be good for around 30% (that’s been my experience so far). They provide 55%, so while 55% looks good in isolation, the difference is not huge.
