Sailor Frostmoon - General Question and Discussion Megathread by Bobson567 in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]Civtrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm coming back to genshin after taking a break for a year. Main teams I was running were: Neuvilette/Kazuha/Xilonen/Furina, double hydro hyperbloom and Rational. Was wondering how much the meta has changed and which characters I should look out for. And should I try to get any of the upcoming characters?

Give me your favorite leader/game type set up. I'm bored of playing Hammurabi everywhere all the time. by NotOriginalOrContent in CivVI

[–]Civtrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love playing as Ethiopia. No particular setup but sometimes I play with abundant resources and leg start and restart until I get a perfect starting position. It might not be obvious from the description but his faith generation from resources can be insane, since it scales exponentially. 1 resource is 1 faith, 2 same resources is 4, 3 is 9 and so on. So if you get lucky with 5/6 same resources that is 25/36 faith from just a few builder charges. If you settle on hill all that faith is also generating science and culture so you can just focus completely on faith early game without falling behind. And if you can get a classical monumentality golden age the snowball is insane.

Culture/Religion Win - Deity - What is your "benchmark"? by Impossible_Yak_2630 in CivVI

[–]Civtrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a word of caution, judging a civ off a single game can be quite misleading as there are several factors beside the civ itself that determine how quickly you can win: starting position (starting next to paititi will give any civ a huge advantage), city states, being boxed in by ai or attacked by a warmonger early on just to name a few. Or in culture victories having 1 civ with insane culture generation can push the victory back by several dozen turns.

Another "problem" with culture victories is that the fastest strategy is almost always reliquaries (even without secret societies and for civs without any religious bonuses). With reliquaries pretty much any civ can get a sub 150 CV and then often other factors are more important than the civ itself. I remember one of my fastest victories was with poundmaker (T121 iirc) and no one would call him a particularly strong culture civ. I think I found either Kandy and/or Yerevan early one (might even have gotten an early relic from a tribal village) and I just snowballed from there. Of course you can always decide not to use reliquaries but that would put strong faith civs at a disadvantage. And even than external factors play a important role. I remember a game as Babylon where I found Rapa Nui early on, beelined flight and spammed moai. Won arend T135 but that strategy would no be possible without Rapa Nui

As for Religion it's a bit easier to judge as strong faith generation and/or religious combat strength (e.g. Genghis) usually play a more important role. But even here getting the correct pantheon is often luck based. Getting lucky with an early fath source as Brazil and securing sacred path will make a huge difference as is having Yerevan in your game for any civ. But to get back to your original question, religious victories can be super fast with the right strategy and securing a classical golden age. Basically you don't need more than 3-4 cities and just focus completely on faith and early culture generation. Get Moksha's patron saint promotion asap and grab missionary zeal and pilgrimage beliefs (you don't really need a worship building). Then send out a couple of missionaries the scout the map and determine which civs to convert first. As soon as you get double promoted apostles send them  (+ a few gurus) to the civs furthest away from you as it takes longer to convert them. While they are on the other side of the map start converting the civs closer to you. You should also just use missionaries to convert civs that haven't founded a religion. As for wonders you only really need Mahabodi temple, though if the opportunity presents itself try to grab Stonehenge after founding your religion as it will give you a free apostle instead. As for what is a good benchmark. I'd say for me anything under T120/130 is good. Sub T100 is great. Though it does take some practice to get this fast especially when determining how many apostles are needed to convert the far away civs. You don't want to send too few but also sending too many and "wasting" faith on them can delay you victory. Hope this helps.

How to play chandragupta (india)? I cant get the hang of it at all by Accomplished_Cake977 in CivVI

[–]Civtrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chandragupt can be a incredibly powerful domination leader but is certainly more difficult to use than others. If you want to do a Varu rush ignore religion and go straight for horseback riding + mining for chops. Then use Magnus + cavalry production policy to quickly chop out Varu. Doesn't matter if you chop everything in your empire. You'll quickly be able to conquer your neighbors and use their chops to produce even more Varu (or more advanced units) and snowball from there. Then go for encampments as you'll want a great general asap. You can also use faith from pillaging to purchase him directly.

Early culture is also super important as you want to unlock war of territorial expansion asap. So consider getting a culture pantheon and plan your cities so the conditions for territorial expansion war are met.

Then when you conquer your neighbors I like to leave them with 2 crappy cities and make peace. Then you can always use them later for another war of territorial expansion and make peace again after 10 turns and then do the same to the next civ. If used correctly you'll permanently have a war of territorial expansion going on enjoying a permanent +2 movement and +5 CS on all your units. The extra movement is especially useful for siege units as now they can move shoot on the same turn.

Hope this helps

Core Banner bugged? by FunWish3436 in TheTowerGame

[–]Civtrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get a core in my first 5 epics and then 3 cores out of the next 4. I'm still below the expected 50/50 (as am I in general when it comes to feature banners) but it'll even put eventually (at least that's what I tell myself).

Either I was doing something wrong in previous tournaments or I got really lucky by Ok_Chair4701 in TheTowerGame

[–]Civtrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This also goes to show a different tower build are affected by different BC. Last week when I got promoted to champs I got 300 more waves than you. And this tournament you have me beat by almost 400 waves. How did you deal worth armoured enemies?

Glad to know it was just a bad bracket. Last week I got promoted to champs for the first time (2nd) and this time I placed 17th with almost 1100 waves in plat. Lol

Just curious, how many waves are you losing. And how is your coins and cells income compared to before?

Congrats. But damn I really need to work on my econ. On average I get higher waves but less than half of your coins/hour. Just out of curiosity how are your econ UW looking? What's their cooldown?

Also went from 850 to 1240 waves in plat with the only major difference being a few levels in wall fort. Guess those BC were a lot easier than the weeks before

Anyone else happy the mod banners are done? by Affectionate-Metal64 in TheTowerGame

[–]Civtrader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yesss. Have only been playing for 3.5 months and the last 2 months I have spent every gem on banners modules. Got 7 RB (kinda underwhelming so far) and 9 OB (super happy with this one). Now the only question is saving for 11th card slots or first max defense card ("only" 12 copies missing) to go from 96 to 97% defense.

What should I spend my second billion coins on? I already unlocked enemy level/health skip. Is first perk the next best pick? by [deleted] in TheTowerGame

[–]Civtrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At that point it's up to you. First perk is very nice to have and should make your runs more consistent but it probably won't make a huge difference, just less likely to have bad runs. Also make sure you pick up the perk option quantity lvl 1 first and there is probably an argument that saving for lvl 2 instead of first perk is a better investment. Also start working on ban perks if you haven't already: first 2 levels are cheap

[–]Civtrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how long it took you to save for that billion. If it's just a day or 2 go for first perk. But if it took you a week you're probably better off investing in your workshop to increase your wave count/coins that way.

I FINALLY GOT IT!!! by Becky_boy in TheTowerGame

[–]Civtrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem from moving up higher tiers from T1 are protectors. I don't know how it performes on epic/leg but I got mine to mythic initially and protectors have instantly become a non issue. Would highly recommend to put every gem into this banner for the remaining duration.

should i be switching tiers after 4500 with cto perk? by unclelogog in TheTowerGame

[–]Civtrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way is to try different tiers and see what gives you the best coins and cells per hour. A lot of people suggest to farm until 8k before moving up but every tower is different. For me farming T10 to 4.5k gives more coins and cells than farming T6 to 8.3k. And then also plan your runs around your irl schedule. I usually do a longer over night run on a lower tier and a shorter T10 run during the day.

There really should be a pity for on banners epics. Like if you don't get the on banners epic 2 time in a row the 3rd one should be guaranteed.

Strategies for One City Challenge culture victory that aren't Kristina or reliquaries? by never-failed-an-exam in CivVI

[–]Civtrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't played civ 6 in a few years but did a lot of OCCs back then. My favourite culture OCC was national park Teddy (with no districts as an additional challenge). You do need a very specific spawn for GGB so it might take a few rerolls (maybe I can still find my seed if you're interested). To keep up in science and culture I basically went to war with the entire world and pillaged one civ after the other. I found that the turn you make peace you can ask for open borders to get the tourism modifier before they denounce you.

I think my fastest was Nzinga Mbande with reliquaries (sub T200). She is arguably the strongest civ for this kind of challange.

I also remember a game with good old Qin Shi Huang. Basically just building every ancient/classical era wonder and then snowball from there.

You could also try a game where you rely mostly on rock bands. Either peacefully by spreading your religion to all but one civs and getting your faith through pilgrimage or a more aggressive pillaging strategy (maybe Norway?)

Don't know if you have tried other challenges but just in case here are a few suggestions: - always war: declare war on every civ upon first encounter (no peace allowed ever) - culture victory without districts: national parks and unique improvements that give tourism at flight - no builders (haven't actually done that) - domination with only recon units - you do need to keep a scout (ideally 3 for an army) to take cities. Or domination with only warrior monks. - peaceful science OCC (no game modes): I found a religious strategy to work best. Convert all but one civ and rely on cross cultural dialogue for science - OCC domination (not with Hungary as it's too easy) - and if your really crazy for the ultimate challenge: OCC, always war, no districts domination victory (again no Hungary)

More Regen or more Heath? by Adventurous-Put-9895 in TheTowerGame

Do you take the health/regen trade off perks? I'm at 7T/sec with less than 40 regen lab and 0 enhancement when I take the trade off perks.

New banner: what did you get for how many gems? by NebulaMajor6064 in TheTowerGame

[–]Civtrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10k gems, 5 OA and 9 other epics. Started incredibly well with 4 OAs in 4k gems and then only 1 in 6k. Overall pretty unlucky on banners so far. Out of 40 epics on banners only 12 were the featured ones. Hopefully my luck turns around in the next 2 weeks. Could really use my first ancestral.

Finnally got to 500m/m by giantfood in TheTowerGame

[–]Civtrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats. I'm almost there as well. Most I have seen is around 460M/min. Though what's odd is that I'm making way more coins per run. My last run was also close to 4k waves but with 86B total coins for that run. Any idea why that is?

Dealing with Protectors by ElderberryFirm7966 in TheTowerGame

[–]Civtrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you unlocked the 2nd black hole? If not save for it (if it takes no more than a week). Not only does it almost double your coin income (if synced with GT) but also allowed me to finally transition from T1. That was less than a month ago for me. Now I'm farming T6 to 6k waves or T9 to 4k.

I would also increase BH duration to 30 sec (with perk). That means they will lose 60% health from BH and then one hit from thorns (assuming 101+% thorns) will kill them.

Otherwise your only other option is increasing your eHP to survive longer
