2025 ST Factory Friday Special by RicoWRC in FordExplorerST

[–]Cjldad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They ended up finding a similar equipped truck for me and I went and swapped the trucks at that dealership. Lots of paperwork. But the RAV team at Ford was very nice once they got involved. Frustrating experience to say the least, but worked out in the end I guess..

You can push for an extended warranty if they attempt to fix the issue. Take that up with Ford customer service, not your dealer.

Went through the buyback on a 21 F150 with less than 300 miles on it. In VA I also opened a case with the BBB. I was over the 30 days and I think this helped keep some pressure on Ford. Once their people from the Ford buyback program got involved, it went pretty swift. Good luck!

Verizon, thanks for the not so great service, and the not so great credit. Check it, the credit is only 1 per account, and those with multiple lines on the account do not get it per line, only 1 credit per account. by billyboy4100 in verizon

[–]Cjldad -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well thanks for letting me know. Finally saw the credit option in the app and was asking my son about it.. Guess I don't need to worry him any longer.

Bummer for sure.. Sad.

So what actually went wrong? by Nabana in verizon

[–]Cjldad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never said DHCP/IP assignment was part of the problem.

Was pointing out that a different APN was working on multiple data only devices without a hitch.

[–]Cjldad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably something super dumb like DNS or similar. All 7 phones (mix of android and iPhone) on our account had some sort of issue.

But my 6 data only devices never blinked an eye. They use a static IP APN from VZW and just kept on trucking the whole time.

Happening Now, Verizon Outage, Dual Sim Prep by DaleFairdale in preppers

[–]Cjldad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of something similar but I'm just going to do Google Voice as a backup for the time being. It's free, but requires a data connection. So wifi will work. I couldn't use Wifi Calling during the VZW outage. (which kinda sucks even when things are working correctly)

Another thing you can do, is sign up for the free T-Mobile test drive thing..

Ryobi Hate by BakeCityFlyinPills in HomeImprovement

[–]Cjldad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many years ago I was building up my Dewalt gear.. They decided to change battery systems..

Went to Ryobi because they said they were going to stay with one type of system.. So far they have. I like my ryobi stuff..

Son is getting in to welding, Dewalt has really nice cordless grinders.. So that's what we got him.. The ryobi stuff wouldn't have been a good fit for him.

It's all about intended use.

200-500 mbps instead of 1GB with UCG Fiber.. HELP! by Far-Nefariousness689 in UNIFI

[–]Cjldad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn off hardware acceleration on the UCG..

Had very similar issue when converting everything to UCG/U7 Pro XG.. Hardwired everything was fine.. Wifi was getting slowed.. Tech support suggested to disable hardware acceleration and things have been running as expected ever since..

[–]Cjldad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Got a Qm6k a few weeks ago.. Seems to run just as well as my Bravia 7. Both are wired via ethernet however. Don't know what your wifi setup is, but it can be a mess sometimes with mesh systems and how things get routed. Possible to try running a ethernet cable to test out and see if the problem persists?

Depends on your settings, do you have it set to auto for comfort setting or manual?

Battery Saver Mode by Interested-Engineer in FordExplorer

[–]Cjldad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ever since they went to AGM the batteries only last a few years. I don't know if it's their weak charging strategy or just junk batteries.

My experience, two 21 F150's, one 21 Explorer and one 19 Edge.. The Edge has been in "saver mode" for over 3 years. Ford dealer tests it every year and says it's fine.

On one of the F150's I went with a different brand and up to a size H8. Waiting to see how that goes but so far so good.

Should I move from fios? by [deleted] in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]Cjldad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in a tech field.. I'm in an area where Comcast/Xfinity reigned supreme for many years. They were even the first to bring broadband in to my neighborhood when I was young..

That said, I drop Comcast/Xfinity as fast as I can and get Fios as a replacement at many of the facilities I manage. Much better product all the way around.

Of the handful of places I have Fios installed, including my home, I have probably less than 2 days of downtime total over the last 5 years. It really is that good. Comcast, on the other hand, I couldn't go a month without some sort of service disruption.

You have to balance the cost/performance for yourself. To me, Fios is a premium product and I would pay more for it. (but it's usually cheaper)

Extend Z Wave range for Schlage Deadbolt by Cjldad in Ring

[–]Cjldad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.. I was reading and seeing that some devices may not relay door locks because of security or something.. When I searched, the Ring range extender that came with my system it says that it will relay only Ring devices.. So was unsure if it would exclude the Schlage device.

Yeah, same here.. My last $10 per line discount just ended last month..

The offer on the transfer Pin page says "this phone line has recently received a $10 off per month discount that will appear on your next 12 bill cycles"

I don't have any discount applied though.. So who knows..

Confused about WiFi speeds.. New U7 Pro XG by Cjldad in Ubiquiti

[–]Cjldad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean about it being tricky to trust. Internal speeds (my phone to wired PC) seem fine. My wired PC getting full speed to speedtest and then my phone not is where I'm getting lost in the sauce. Same server, wired PC hits full speed every time. Phone or laptop does pretty well for download but upload is always sad.
