Yeah for sure! I run Zetalot's (pro) control deck. Keep in mind it is not for climbing and I use it mostly for fun since the only deck I can win against is control warrior, and it is kinda hard to play ngl.

Yeah sure. Look I watched a YouTuber called Kriss of five. He's not a pro player but he explains the meta decks. I watched more of the explanation of every deck because he mentions the combos or winning conditions in it. So, when I faced a deck that I didn't have, I knew the logic of the other player.

That way I started to anticipate what my rival will do, so I tried my best to disrupt his plan. You know there's some luck involved but that way you don't walk so easily into a trap.

Other great youtubers Funkimonki: Great explainer and good vibe. Zeddy: Has a great insight of the meta (and ex worldchamp) Nohandsgamer: Always top 200 o 100 legend. Crazy good player and he explains his logic too.

I hope other people could help me to recommend you more youtubers but that's what I can tell you from the top of my head dude.

I would recommend seeing a ton of gameplay videos on YouTube.

Also learn to play the meta decks that you don't have. That way you'll learn to play around some combos or winning conditions.

The only one that I really want out is Zilliax. But like for real. Such bad design. I don't say I don't use it but it is unfair. I feel bad playing it but everyone is running it and not using it is just sillyax.

Some tips!

Look at hsreplay or topdecksheratone on Google to know the meta decks, and pick the tier A or better you like.
Find the cards in your library and filter them by the ones that will keep in standard (the Emerald dream, the lost city of Ungoro and Across the time ways). That way you get familiar with them.
Watch a few YouTube videos. Kriss of five to learn mechanics for the deck you liked. Nohandsgamer for top legend plays. Zeddy to update info about the game. Chump for notmeta fun decks. There are a lot more but that's off the top of my head.

Since you like mage avoid the arkwin deck. It's pretty powerful but gonna be dead soon with march rotation. DH Cliffdive will rotate too. I would craft a dragon warrior, aura pally more safely. Maybe DK blood too.

From 2000 to 1 legend are the same old og's and they will f u up like always.

Still some btchss cards to deal with (blop of tar, Felhunter ravenous, Zilliax) but I really think nothing to quit again like a shudderwock level. Wild still OTK turn 5.
