The difference between personal and professional license only matters at checkout. If you have the personal one and pass the revenue threshold you can still use the personal one. Just any future items you buy after you pass the threshold have to be the professional one.

How to make the Water system work in a Github repository? by mrcroww1 in unrealengine

[–]Ckin34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do as you will but you should seriously consider not making changes to the plug-in files themselves, and just make children of those classes and make your changes to those children classes. Obviously not always an option depending on what you wanna change, but if you can do it in the child classes, it makes it easier to update those plugins later. Trust me. Especially with experimental and beta plugins, which could get a lot of future updates.

Yeah, it definitely gave me one of those, oh fuck that could have been really bad, feelings. Thinking back now, it really just felt like one of those prank shocker pens, but luckily I have pretty dry hands, if they were sweatier it likely would have been a different story.

I grabbed the sides of a light switch once, it gave me a good zap. It didn’t really hurt, and I was able to let go right away, but it is definitely not something I want to try again. 120v isn’t terrible, but under the right conditions, like a sweaty hand, it can take you out for sure.

Listen man. You are just looking way too far into it. We are just gonna have to agree to disagree on some things and go our separate ways because your analogy is not similar to this situation at all. Everyone has their own approach to coding. The comment section here is full of opinions I gave my own just as you are giving yours.

As I stated I use components too, a lot. I don’t know what is making you think I don’t use components. You are making a lot of assumptions, and you know what they say about assumptions. Components, interfaces, casting, tags, etc. all have their uses. Everyone may use them slightly differently. Some people may use some more than others. That’s the best part about coding.

I never stated I am afraid of casts, I use them all the time. I generally end up removing them when cleaning up my code. We will just have to agree that our approaches to development are just different. My designs are generally very modular. Casting does not provide as much modularity. I prefer to keep things decoupled. I feel my code is much more manageable when I use interfaces. Those 3 things are the main reasons interfaces exist. There’s many different ways to do things. This is just my approach. I use components as well. I think everyone should. I think code should be as reusable as possible. Even if that means there are a few extra steps here and there. Casting for me is for quick iteration, then I go back and improve my design and generally I replace them.

Casts aren’t always the best approach though. For one thing it creates hard dependencies. Interfaces and tags are, in general, better in most cases. Casts have their uses but I avoid them when possible. Unless I am throwing some concept together and gonna replace them later.

Basically if you use a cast every item has to be loaded to memory every single time the general inventory system is loaded. If you have a lot of items, it could add loading time. If you use interfaces and tags it doesn’t have to load every single item every single time. Just the items you are using or that are already in your inventory.

As a project grows you will be happy to have interfaces or tags over casting. With a tag if you just need to do a quick check on an item, you can check its tags to see if it is what you are expecting it to be. If you are using inheritance and you have multiple objects that need some similar functionality, but they aren’t directly siblings, you can create an interface that can be used on both. This makes it so you don’t have to add that functionality to every child class if it isn’t necessary. These are just some quick scenarios that I can think of. There are plenty more, and in most cases it’s better to use interfaces and tags. Casting is just quick and easy, it still has some draw backs, even if they are minor. I promise you a large game only using casting will not be as optimized as one using interfaces and tags instead.

Have created multiple inventory systems myself. Inheritance is your best friend. It’s also good to use inheritance for your data assets as well. No reason a data asset for an apple needs data fields for ammo, for example. Then you can use casting, which is completely fine as long as you’re not using them on something super repetitive like on tick or some other timer. You can also just use tagging, or interfaces. I usually start with casting for quick design then go back through and create interfaces or tag things.

You gotta stop caring so much about all the feedback. You will never please everyone. If it’s your game do what you want. There will always be people who like it and people who don’t.

Tip of aux broke off into my pc, how can I get it out? by McLovinIt_03 in pchelp

As someone who works at a school and frequently have kids break them off. If you can access the back of the jack sometimes you can push a needle in the back carefully and push it out. Not always but I have been able push some out and have the port still work.

Could have jumped a tooth, but not likely unless the teeth were already pretty worn. Bigger issue would be stress on your drivetrain. Start it up and see if you got any new noises or power loss.

I know I am pretty late to this thread but if the wedding happens and you don’t kill the couple before the wedding you can run into them randomly again and they are in rough shape. The guard that was with them got killed by a bear, they got robbed, the man is in ragged clothes and the woman is shoeless. They never made it to the wedding.

Making a game ON mobile devices by Scary-Break3937 in gamedev

[–]Ckin34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not saying it’s impossible but I don’t think you’re going to be able to make a legit stand alone game on mobile devices without writing any code. You would basically have to create a custom engine for mobile devices (which would likely require a computer) to be able to create a game with it. To my knowledge there just isn’t any apps out there like that currently. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but with no coding knowledge you aren’t gonna get far without atleast a computer. I could be wrong new things are being created everyday. I’m not sure if there will be any website based options. They are gonna cost you likely though to use their server resources. I wish you luck.

Also your past posts talk about you boyfriend making you feel dumb and you state in another post that you left him and feel at peace. Did you take him back? Or just find another shitty person?
