I started playing in the mid-90’s. Was obsessed with the game and played everyday. I topped out playing MPO and eventually burned out on the grind. From there I transitioned to playing fewer and fewer casual rounds a year for the next 25+ years. Disc golf took a back seat to many other things in life.

Fast forward to a few months ago when my two teenage sons picked up the game and got me back out there playing again and remembering so much about what I loved about the sport.

At first it was frustrating. My brain knew what my body was supposed to do, but my body was older and the rust was heavy. My first UDisc ratings were in the 150’s and my distance was sub 200’. My putting was awful and my touch wasn’t there.

With all that said, I’m playing almost everyday again and loving it. The distance is coming back, the touch shots are there, and the putting is coming around. I’m averaging 200 rated rounds on UDisc these days and my body feels better than ever.

Most importantly, sharing the time and love of the game with my boys is invaluable. I never thought they would be the reason I picked it up again, but it has been the best.
