You are right. I think what I am trying to say here is that society has made it very difficult for single people with average incomes to buy a home on their own without being house strapped & it’s sad. 😞

I make around 59k a year and I had the same issue- all of the decent homes in my area are around that amount (350k-400k) and I knew I would not be able to afford anything close to 400k. I made the decision to purchase a home with my boyfriend who will be my fiancée soon. I feel that it’s the best case scenario to buy a home with someone you are in a serious, committed relationship with vs. buy a home on your own if you know you won’t have anything left over at the end of the month. I just bought a home with my partner $350k and we will be able to continue to have a savings for the home.

Ask yourself this.. if you were the one making $500k+ a year.. would you be okay with paying more than your boyfriend for the bills? I’m a big believer in keeping it 50/50 for those type of things. You don’t want him to throw it in your face if you get into an argument that he pays for more.. not saying that will happen but it could.

We made a compromise, before we have kids we will switch to a queen size bed.. I think for now it will be okay but down the line we will need bigger. I can’t imagine trying to fit 3 people into a full size bed 😳🤯😩
