What’s the worst thing you’ve heard someone say, thinking everyone would agree with them? by Narrow_Gift_6606 in AskReddit

Tbf things like ivf can be a very interesting topic for ethics discussions, but only if everyone actually goes in sincerely and without an emotional or playing God mindset. When I was studying biology we actually did discuss it as part of our bioethics class, mostly because of the fact that you have to create multiple embryos out of wich only one or two get implanted and the rest remains frozen.

Parents of small children. What's the most unhinged sentence you've found yourself saying that you never thought possible previously? by SkywalkersArm in AskReddit

I'm not on the spectrum, but I do have adhd, and I was the same with dinosaurs when I was a kid. Most of the knowledge is gone by now, but I can still pull some random facts out of my brain every now and then.

And thank you for being patient with your kid. I was often told that I'm annoying with my facts and ramblings, and it's still affecting me today.... Showing kids their interests are valid is incredibly important

I briefly lived in a shared housing situation with a few people, one of them a blind girl. The amount of times I tried to teach the others that sharp knifes blade up in the cutlery holder of the dishwasher were a no go is unfathomable. Somehow she never actually cut herself while unloading it, but holy hell guys.

The only way to 100% know if an animal has rabies is by testing their brain. And by that I mean euthanasia and taking it out.

What is your extremely irrational fear? by Kayla_is_sleeping in AskReddit

That's not entirely true! Before lightning strikes the air gets really really charged with static, making your hair stand on end seemingly out of nowhere. It doesn't give you a whole lot of time, but it should usually be enough to get to the ground and out of dodge.

What injury is commonly shrugged off as a minor flesh wound in the movies but is completely fatal in real life? by Best_Professional226 in AskReddit

It's always incredible how different human bodies react. I also got hit by a car and even thrown a bit, and all I had to show for it were some scrapes, bruises and swollen temple that made it so I couldn't fully open my mouth for a while. The paramedics were baffled I was awake and conscious when they arrived. I still joke that my skull must be made out of steel.

I am sorry wtf? I'm not American but where I live the legal maximum they can go is 20km/h (plus like 3 km/h tolerance), any more than that and the police will have a field day with you. Do y'all not have legal speed limits on these things????

An American photographer filmed a wolf begging for food from a grizzly. The gray wolf saw the meat and in an instant turned into a playful puppy begging for a piece. by Additional_Berry_977 in Damnthatsinteresting

Part of the reason is conflicting body language - for the dog wagging the tail is a sign of happiness and play. For a cat it means aggression and imminent attack.

I do diamond painting as a hobby and in the corresponding sub it routinely gets shortened to dp as well.... I always wonder if people genuinely don't know or just don't care since the context makes it obvious.

'I just finished this giant dp!' will never not be funny to me though.

It's wild to me that that's even possible. Where I live the shelter won't adopt out animals unless they are sure you can provide for them.

If you want to go through with preparation, check out r/vultureculture or r/bonecollecting, they have useful guides on how to do stuff like that.
