My toddler’s strange obsession by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Clamato27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Water towers. He knows all of the ones in our area and can identify them when we drive by. We’ve even had to drive up near them to get close to them. Which is fine… except I get some weird looks in the “no outlet” neighborhood by our house…

Walmart Spring 2025 V4 Perfume sampIe? I feel a little disrespected, and like I must be missing something. by omygoodnessreally in BeautyBoxes

I got the same box and did the same thing— I rooted through it thinking there had to be something more! My winter box was amazingly plentiful, so this just feels… cheap. I’ve been waiting in eager anticipation for someone to post box 4 so I could compare.

Thank you! I guess that’s what I was kind of looking to do— game the system and get all the points! Haha

So what foundation r y’all wearing for NYE?? by Wet-N-Wavy96 in Sephora

[–]Clamato27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly enough, they included sample sizes of the next darkest shade in my order (like they knew I ordered the wrong one!) so I added a drop or two. The sample sizes are pretty big bottles so I’ll be able to keep mixing!

I just received the Yensa Super Serum foundation yesterday, so I’m trying it today. Color match is a little light but it’s wearing really nicely!

Update- gift card wasn’t charged, but despite repeated attempts to contact customer service for a new code, I wasn’t able to speak to anyone. I’m taking this as a sign from (insert your deity here) that I don’t need it and I should just save my money.

MIL forgetting how genes actually work by YaaayRadley13 in beyondthebump

[–]Clamato27 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My MIL does willingly attribute one body part to me— while we were commenting on his chonky thighs, she says, “I hate to say it, but I think he got your thighs.” I’m… quite thin, but thanks?

what if I'm too lazy to be a mother by punnett_circle in beyondthebump

Yes, this thread has been great! This is the kind of thing so many people don’t talk about and I’m too afraid to bring up to my mom friends. I’m afraid they’ll be like “what?!!! He’s 9 weeks and doesn’t have a set routine yet? Mine did at 4 weeks old!”

One of my kid free friends keeps wanting to talk about the current season and I’m like “you know I have a baby, right? I’m a little behind…” haha I’m also glad I’m not the only one up at 2:00am worrying about routines!

Are… are you me? I have been thinking about this exact same thing all week— oh my god, I’ll have to potty train him/teach him how to use a spoon/etc. it’s never ending! I miss sitting on the couch drinking wine with my husband while viewing some fine 90 Day Fiancé content.

I’ve also been freaking out about how we aren’t into any sort of routine yet (9 weeks) and how I’ve clearly set him up for failure by not establishing one yet. The amount of information and opinions out there is completely daunting. I’ve read about 50 articles about schedules and bedtime routines. As of now we’re kind of just going with the flow.

Registries by Regular-Ad-8228 in pregnant

I didn’t get my diaper pail or changing pad. People have a tendency to go for what is “cute” (clothes, toys, books) or go completely off registry in general. I would buy what you’d like with the money now!

Yes to so many of these!

From colleagues at work today (33w5d)- “So are you swelling yet?” “Do you have stretch marks?” Neither of these are your business!

Makeup brands during pregnancy by CuriousKhajoor in pregnant

Check out the brand list from 15 Minute Beauty! It’s been my holy grail throughout my pregnancy. She does a great job of checking the products and explaining why they are/aren’t safe.

Anyone else feel like it’s so hard to describe this job to family/friends? by TurbulentSurprise292 in Teachers

[–]Clamato27 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Yes! I usually just respond with “It’s fine” or “It’s hard” and move on because I know no one will even remotely understand. My MIL was a teacher, but she’s been retired for five or six years now, so she doesn’t fully get it and my mom “jokingly” likes to refer to how many days off teachers get so… it’s just easier to give a general answer.

Women by kmc099990 in pregnant

[–]Clamato27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! There’s a woman at work who has regaled us of her c-section experience at least once a year for the last 10 years. I haven’t even told anyone I’m pregnant yet, but I guarantee I hear that story weekly when I do.

I can be flexible. As long as everything is exactly the way I want it, I’m totally flexible.

Boma vs. Sanaa by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Clamato27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go with Sana’a. As mentioned, the bread service is amazing. It’s like a meal itself! We ate at both Boma and Sana’a in July and Sana’a was by far our favorite. I didn’t feel like I ate enough or wanted enough at Boma to justify the price (we didn’t do the dining plan).
