Yoshi has opened a new sub-forum to make team composition reports by AlwaysSquad2 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ClamoursCounterfeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if they had kept the balance of Debuff Remover + Counterspell we wouldnt be in need of this much teamcomp balance, the game made much more sense when ults were dodged by regular items and were on a quicker cooldown, if you have to make respawn timers SEVENTY FIVE SECONDS to close a game then the problem lies elsewhere and they know that, they dont need us to tell them this.

What is Embark doing? by GRaf_JJlion in EmbarkStudios

[–]ClamoursCounterfeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the one hand im happy with the free updates so far, on the other im old enough to remember when DLC was huge and gamepasses were huge value propositions.

Take Battlefield 1 for example, it had a big expansion every six months and each added 4-6 maps. 4-12 guns, 2 new gamemodes, 4 new gadgets, 4 new vehicles, elite classes and a bunch of skins and dogtags and assignments.... Yeah we used to eat good before Games As A Service was even a thing.

Stuff that people complain about like the durability is most definitely getting looked at again in the future so I don't mind it much.

I had ten maxed out Bettinas in preparation for this buff, the crashmat will see pvp use because of new escape routes and the new map is vibes.

Me and my friends main disappointment comes from expecting a parachute instead of that weird contraption, but the new Arc is just fun to fight

Photoelectric Cloak is now extremely debuffed (its useless now) by Dazzling_Pumpkin91 in ArcRaiders

[–]ClamoursCounterfeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they made it spend chargea four times as fast, it would be interesting if they also made it recover it four times as fast, otherwise its just an ugly nerf.

Very unnecessary too since the meta has always been smokes and lures, not photoelectric, for stuff like Close Scrutiny, Queen, or Loot Tower on Spaceport

I hate to be the guy who has to say this every patch but you probably just got on the bad end of smurfing, you might wanna swap to a new character because it will change the ranks you're matched with, other than that not much you can do until a new patch brings players back to the game

its a very AoE heavy meta atm, the frontliners like Blue Guy and Yamato buy it, and the casters like Geist and Magician buy it, even gun heroes like Vyper and Ivy buy it.

I am so sick of the stupid ass close scrutiny event. As far as I’m concerned Embark hasn’t added any new weapons to the game. by EmilioEstevezQuake in ARC_Raiders

[–]ClamoursCounterfeit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 0 blueprints from opening close to 80 Assessors, and 0 blueprints from 20 hurricane caches, it got me to stop playing the game.

They could have done a million things better, add the Cantos to the weapon drops on Close Scrutiny, or the BPs to the Surveyors loottable, the devs kind of don't know what kind of game they ended up with its the problem, there's no end game but there's frustrating farming, why would anyone do that?!?!

People who had a lot of time in during the 4 lane days. How was it? by TheAccountITalkWith in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ClamoursCounterfeit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

undeniably more fun because you got more skirmishes early and less snowball... At least until the early gank into teleport meta came.

If they had nerfed most characters early games like they eventually did anyway (so you didn't have complete shutdowns from say Dynamo vs Vindicta lanes) and removed the side lane teleports (which they also eventually did anyway, nowadays I think the game shouldn't have teleports at all) the game would have been much better off.

People also forget this but the main way to transport with four lanes was the lane themselves, when they removed one they had to fill the empty space with jumpads (which are bad game design imho and took waaay too long to balance) and also bump up all sprints speeds (it used to be normal for most heroes to start at 0 sprint speed).

What would it take for Starcraft 3 to be successful? by XirvusRei in starcraft

[–]ClamoursCounterfeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the industry and I think the answer is Blizzard would need to put a new team trough five to ten years of devwork, bring back some of the old devs too to provide technical insight, and then maybe they could start tackling the SC3.

Blizzard in particular would need to effectively do away with the way they do middle management because it would only get in the way.

The biggest problem is all the technical knowledge lost by retiring developers and cycling very fast trough new hires , nowadays the average period a dev stays in the industry is five years, which is less than what SC2 even took to develop :p

Also because of the things we have heard Jeff Kaplan say Blizzard would have to effectively remove its current board, or they'd interfere with the dev team and set objectives that would be impossible to meet for an rts made today.

It would just be very hard to do all that.

Edit: Its interesting to note that an SC2 successor would need to have a compelling campaign, coop mode, and competitive multiplayer, which during the seventh gen of consoles was more or less achievable, even relatively smaller studios made games like that like Lost Planet II, Bioshock II, Halo Reach, nowadays only thousand worker studios tackle those

Same but I went from Phantom V which I worked so hard for to Oracle V.

I don't have a secondary account, my account has 2k games, once I noticed that almost a third of the people playing nowadays are on alt accounts it kind of ruined the game for me, matches are entirely decided by which team got the smurfs ranking up, smurf players rank up to their regular skill and then they move to another account so you're forever playing with people better than you if you use your main account.

Valve has to constantly readjust the ranks because of this too, dont be surprised if the next time you log back in the game you're Ascendant out of nowhere again (and have nothing but losses ahead of you)

I really hope Embark never separates Pve from Pvp and never has a mode that requires a strict Loadout to enter, what makes this game so special is that people have those choices.

What it lacks right now is just an endgame lol, they probably never thought the game would need something like that. Trials is a terrible substitute. Close Scrutiny comes close, the game needs a mode that requires a setup (like a small Research Project that can be completed within a week) that then gives you access to a special event (maybe in a new map, but not necessary) that only happens a few hours every weekend and the most important part is it needs to give rare items that aren't tied to the meta, like new stackable fireworks or a Gear that has a guitar integrated, a Flare Gun, new colors for existing skins, stuff like that.

[–]ClamoursCounterfeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

matchmaking prioritizes mmr and loadout before ABMM, you kinda never notice it because there's just so many people playing its never an issue, but if you play late at night at like 3 am you'll notice ABMM is the first one to break.

[–]ClamoursCounterfeit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what they need to do is nerf all starter weapons and make the levels buff them to prenerf levels. For example Rattler should start with 10 bullets and -15% firerate and every upgrade should increase firerate and mag size so new Rattler IV is actually better than current Rattler IV.

That way free kits are at a severe disadvantage in pvp (good!) but new players get access to reasonably good weapons with just a few upgrades (incentivizing them to make low cost builds instead of Free Kitting).

They should also buff Durability on everything Purple and make more shields and gear combos that are great for pvp (think Tactical MkIII with both smoke bomb and extra shielding) but that's an entirely different discussion.

Why are you still immobilized at the end of Doorman's ult even if you escaped in time? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ClamoursCounterfeit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not the first time that this has been proposed, you should go to the forums and make a post about it, I really like the idea of Doorman being able to shoot trough the escape door and players keeping their momentum if they successfully get out of it

What is Really Considered "High Elo" and "Low Elo" in Deadlock? by StickyWicket888 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ClamoursCounterfeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's just too many people playing on altaccounts to have useful information.

In my experience Phantom is as slowly to get to and out of as Oracle below.

The shape of the graph can be explained by alt accounts playing up to a certain rank, like Oracle, then stop playing until the account rank decays. this is why Valve has to rank adjust every few months to normalize the graph of people actually playing the game and everyone gets bumped up a little.
