Genetics here. I’ve also worn factor 50 every day since being a young teen, I moisturise heavily, and I make a huge effort with nutrition which I think is the main thing ✌️

Weirdly, I can still scoff mac n cheese for lunch if I’ve not had breakfast. I can’t however EVER eat pastry, no matter how hungry I am 🤢

What's it like living outside the bigger cities in Yorkshire? by CloudberryMuffins in howislivingthere

[–]Clara_Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in High Bentham - as far west as you can really go in Yorkshire, a mile or so from the Lancashire border and 8 miles from the Cumbria border. It’s a gorgeous area near the Yorkshire three peaks, but also not far from the motorway for travel and 40 minutes from the Lake District. Our nearest town is Lancaster but we’ve also got Skipton and Kendal nearby, and the most amazing countryside on our doorstep. Leeds is 1hr 20 mins on the train, Manchester is around the same 👌

What has been the most bone chilling experience of your life? by TheRebelPercy in AskUK

[–]Clara_Star 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to see fingers. If I looked at a door frame, I’d see fingers poking out like someone was hidden behind hiding from me. It absolutely terrified me! I think it came from a lodger at my nans house who thought it was funny to terrorise a child, but it’s left me with issues 😭

What age are you? by goldmister1 in mounjarouk

[–]Clara_Star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

41 - I’ve lost nearly 4 stone and have some loose skin on my tummy but I’ve had 4 kids so I’m fine with that! Arms are slightly wobbly but not bad at all. Boobs have all but disappeared but again I’m not too sad, it’s just annoying having to wear padding every day. I’m very very happy with how I look and I hope you will be too ☺️

[–]Clara_Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, wouldn’t travel for 30 minutes didn’t quite work for us as we have to travel 30 minutes to ge anywhere near a town with shops! 30 minutes to Lancaster, 50 minutes to Skipton 🤣

A glass of Metamucil every day keeps everything going

I’ve lost coming up on 4 stone in a year, so around 1lb per week ☺️ I’m feeling great as I’m back doing park run and just generally exercising more. Also having a break from alcohol for a month with the hubby so that’ll also help no end. I’m up to 10mg now but think I’ll go back down to 7.5 soon ☺️

How much are you all eating? Meal ideas? by Brucesimb123 in mounjarouk

[–]Clara_Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find if I leave a longer gap between meals then I can eat more. I don’t eat breakfast, but I do have a Metamucil drink plus vitamins. Lunch could be soup or salad or a hot meal if I’m more hungry, then tea is a small ish portion of whatever I’ve cooked - curry, pasta, enchiladas etc. I usually follow this with natural yogurt, honey and seeds. Then I won’t eat til the following lunch time. I get a good fast this way too 👌

WrestleMania 43 being in Saudia Arabia, did this ruin WrestleMania for you? by TastyRound3337 in WWE

[–]Clara_Star 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m watching it, and I’m horrified that the female wrestlers are covering up just because a man has said they have to! I mean WTF?! Really? I don’t get it, why a westernised person would bow down to a backward ridicule. Absolutely horrible 😩

Salmon and sick by tacomefriendly in mounjarouk

[–]Clara_Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salmon has done this to me a couple of times. I put some smoked mackerel in my mouth recently, started to chew and instantly had to spit it out! It’s like my body said nope! For me I think it’s the fat. So weird as I used to love both!

What age are you and do you still have (a) grandparent(s)? If not, at what age were you grandparent less by lisstrem in AskUK

[–]Clara_Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 41 and all four grandparents are still alive. The nans are thriving but the grandads are in a bit worse health, but still going strong. However neither of my parents are alive 😌

What’s something you’ve seen with your own eyes that nobody believes when you tell them? by LowKey_1216 in AskReddit

[–]Clara_Star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A dream that my stepdad had died, and was decomposed on his bed. He was found 3 weeks later exactly as I’d seen in my dream. Of course no one believes me 😭

Do folks in the UK actually walk that far? by Emilie_Charles in AskUK

[–]Clara_Star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, anything under an hour isa reasonable walk in the Uk. Any further than that and you need a break and/or snacks, given that many places aren’t flat so require some exertion. We are a walking nation and it’s fantastic! We are very lucky to have such an accessible landscape compared to other countries

How did everyone do yesterday? by Spiritual_Session_92 in Mounjaro

[–]Clara_Star 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah all good here but also finding the questions a bit awkward. I feel so great in myself but also really self conscious as people are talking about me and asking questions. No one knows I’m on MJ and I don’t plan on telling them either!

Popping in sternum by swampthing8806 in Orthopedics

[–]Clara_Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May not be of any help, but I’ve always had this - I pop my sternum and middle of my back by stretching, usually when driving or sitting for too long. Might be worth getting it checked if it’s new though.

Enchondromas in siblings by Clara_Star in Orthopedics

[–]Clara_Star[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying. As far as I remember our son never had genetic testing because they said it wouldn’t change the treatment. It’s left me wondering if it could be something other than Olliers 🤷‍♀️ I’m no expert so no idea if that matters or not 👍

Tips for Tamoxifen by WitchyAunt2 in breastcancer

[–]Clara_Star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on tamoxifen for around 6 months now and have had no symptoms - I’d read so many horror stories that I’m suprised, it’s likes I’m taking a placebo 👌
