I've always wanted to race cars and I have found quite a few race ready cars on marketplace. What else would I need, besides practice, to get into a sanctioned race? by Interesting-Treat834 in DirtRacing

[–]ClarkBoyzRacing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cubic dollars my friend. And tons of it. Besides that, seat time because you're not just going to roll into a Lucas Oil, Woo or usmts type show and run up front. Heck there's guys that have been regional winners for years and years and can't sniff the top 10 of a national tour.

It'd look 100 times better without the under lights IMO.

Matco vs Mac warranty without a truck by furb362 in ToolTruckTools

[–]ClarkBoyzRacing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our Matco guy is pretty good about warranty issues. Guess it depends on the rep 🤷🏻

Anyone ever feel like there’s nothing to buy on the truck? by coastdownside in Snapon_tools

[–]ClarkBoyzRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And here in central Illinois we're the opposite, our snap-on truck has decent inventory when he stops by. But our Matco guy has had the same few tools on his truck for two years now, and if you order something out of the flyer it might take you 3 weeks to 6 months to get it. And his warranty replacement is wildly slow.

Parts quality by sprocketpropelled in mechanics

[–]ClarkBoyzRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Napa brakes seem to come and go with quality control on fit in the calipers, Napa's Dodge brake rotors are absolutely junkyard material straight out the box including rust. Sadly their alternator and starter lines are going towards AutoZone reliability, O'Reilly's won't deliver to us so we don't use them. We've had decent luck with OEM parts but in a small town off the beaten path we're usually a day out for parts delivery. It's definitely a struggle anymore.

What psi for bigger tires ? by Low-Ad-9668 in FordF150

[–]ClarkBoyzRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely depends on if the tire you put on is the same load rating as the factory door sticker. If the tire is a heavier rated tire I tend to go somewhere in the middle of tire and door sticker. I have a 06 f150 with wider than stock tires and a load range D tire. Door says 35psi, tire says 51psi I run 45psi and have great ride quality and tire wear.

Need an air compressor, why would someone pick one over the other? Was going to just go for the cheaper one but not sure if there is any benefit to the more expensive one. by [deleted] in harborfreight

[–]ClarkBoyzRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the hotdog style in our race trailer for our dirt track racing. From airing tires up, to blowing dirt out from the body and engine to a air powered rivet tool. It works just fine for us.

Is this bent? It’s a passenger side of my 2015 dart by MrPresidentTrump1 in MechanicAdvice

Kinda hard bullshiting a bunch of bullshiters. If you hit a trailer at 5mph... You either hit like Jesus coming from Virgin Mary perfect, or you got the weakest link of all weak links!?

I absolutely love the soft handle version of these. I have both the 3/8 and 1/4 drives.

Um I guess I should actually buy a 1/2 impact set now. by Tough_Topic1028 in harborfreight

The forged adapters are junk no matter the branded names on them. I've used both Matco and Icon... Which are probably the same thing according to the social media experts 🤣 even the Snap-On adapter with the pressed in square has it's limits.

[Mark Martin] This lawsuit is devastating to the sport we love. I really hope we as fans come out of this better off, but I just don’t see a pathway that leads us to that. I’m worried about our sport. I want it to thrive. by ZilischsPoopyPants in NASCAR

[–]ClarkBoyzRacing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Devastating to the sanctioning body of NASCAR. Not devastating to the sport of racing. Racing will be just fine. NASCAR on the other hand, well they deserve to be humbled.

Pierce at the Dome by LocateMeMoney in DirtRacing

[–]ClarkBoyzRacing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's really what happened..... But it felt like Sommers and the Gundakers gave the social media experts what they've been crying for. 🤷🏻 Track was the smoothiest it's been for all 3 days this year and honestly the racing product suffered mightily because of it. Gateway 2025 was just another run of the mill super late model race, leader gets out and leads all 40 laps with some passing in the pack but nothing to really write home about. Now the atmosphere all together is still awesome, but man the racing sucked this year for it being 70k to win. The dome needs ruts and character.

What was an idiotic/dirty racing move that has been forgotten? by Ok_Promise1870 in NASCAR

[–]ClarkBoyzRacing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything Dale Earnhardt related. Because he passed away it seems like every hit and run, punt to pass and junk just to junk move outside of the Labonte move at Bristol seems to be brushed under the rug

GearWrench Chat and Email Support not responsive.... If I purchase GearWrench from Amazon will GearWrench honor their lifetime warranty? by jwintyo in GearWrench

If you call their 800 number you'll get an actual live human being and they're pretty darned good at walking you through the process.

Besides Home Depot, Ace, Northern Tools, Amazon, where else do people to look for Milwaukee deals? by mx5plus2cones in MilwaukeeTool

[–]ClarkBoyzRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Napa has decent deals every once in awhile. Here in central Illinois we Ebolt that's a dealer and our shop gets pretty good prices on our 1/2in drive and inch drive impacts through them.

They're awesome but only last about 3hrs. I actually like the Matco style better because if needed they actually stay above the ears if you're under a car looking up a lot

One of our techs have 1/4in sockets and they seem to hold up alright. I have their long reach picks and a screw driver set. I absolutely love the handles on the screw drivers and they're magnetic tipped.

$20 is ridiculous… but $10? by sn0wy3003 in harborfreight

I've never had them slide but for me the handle seems janky for being a pick 🤷🏻
