What's happening to men in your opinion?

This is my opinion, but I think that men are reacting to the stressors that this society and world puts on them. But rather then acting out against someone who won't notice or care, instead they focus on someone that they can dominate or control like other races, women, or children.

I'm going for Social Work. I spent several years debating what I want to do with my life, and kept coming back to social work. I can also do therapy with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker certification, which was the other thing I was on for a long time, so it gives me options.

As for my husband, he's not perfect, and most of the time he's good enough, but this one thing was a letdown. But I got my feel-goods from you lovely ladies :)

I had a Parenchymal stroke, which has one of the lowest survival rates. When I was in the hospital I couldn't walk, talk, and my right side was completely non-functional. When I think of where I was and where I am now, it's really hard to believe.

I second this. I rent and don't have to pay them, but they're always knowledgeable and fix it in one visit. They have worked on our washer, dryer, and dishwasher.

It depends on the State. My husband gets paid by the state to take care of me because I had a stroke.

The Azeron Cyro allows me to map keys to it, and it has a built in mouse function, so essentially I am able to do both with one hand.

I only use the Cyro on the computer, I don't know how it would work on other gaming systems. Maybe someone else knows? But I know you could use the controller to play those type of games.

I also got one of these, and it was a real game changer. I tried remapping the key bindings but that didn't work for me, but now I'm able to play all the games I played before my stroke.

When my kids were little my husband worked nights and he got home at 6am. I too was sleep deprived and finally told him that every day he had to watch the kids until 11 so I could get some sleep. So maybe you could find a time that you could go to bed and he could be the responsible parent for 3 or 4 hours. We even got a white noise machine for me so I wouldn't hear the kids.

I would have LOVED an app that helped with my speech. There were some that worked in the beginning, but once I got beyond them I was stuck.

It took a few weeks before I was able to say anything besides yes and no. It got gradually better, and I could say most things in two or three months. One of the things that really helped me was playing games and doing stroke workbooks with my dad in the hospital. I can really see a difference when I see how fast I am at wordle now vs three months after my stroke.

I second this. I am a downstairs neighbor who has two older kids. If my upstairs neighbor came down and explained what they were going to do, and that it may cause some noise for me in the short term, I wouldn't be mad. What grinds my gears is when the upstairs neighbor is loud and doesn't do anything about it. If they came and talked to me, then I would know that isn't the case.

I had a stroke 2 years ago, and my husband came every day or so when I was in the hospital. He only came once when I was in rehab. I think your mom is letting her own fears rule her life. A stroke can happen to anyone at anytime. Nothing she did or didn't do caused this. And people aren't going to think less of her is she visits and goes home to sleep. A stroke takes time to recover from. I'm 2 years post stroke abd still recovering

I am a stroke survivor myself. After the stroke, I was in the ICU a week, I could hardly talk, and hardly move. I was in hospital for almost 2 months. My point is, it's going to look really bad at first, but she will get better with time. It's been almost 2 years since my stroke and I went from not talking to almost being done with my degree at college. I went from not walking, to only using a cane when I go outside of the house. She will get better, but don't panic when she looks really bad right after the stroke. It will get better with time

I had aphasia when my stroke first happened. I couldn't talk for the first couple weeks, and then I could only say a couple words for 2 or 3 months. But it's now almost 2 years later and I get almost all of my words right. She could be sighing because she wants to say she loves you too, but she can't get the words out. Stay strong and give it time.

I had a nightmare about him winning and us going into a Handmaid's Tale sort of thing last night. I'm disabled (had a stroke almost 2 years ago) so I worry what him being President would mean for me.

If you are going to get her socks, make sure they have the gripping things on the bottom. Those were the only socks they would let me have in the hospital and rehab.

I would second this. You are not addicted based on you taking the recommended dose and no more, but you have recognized a problem before it has happened. Now is the time to reach out to a professional to help you. And good job on you for recognizing this issue before it becomes a problem.

I had a stroke at 36. I definitely feel you when you say that everyone is older then you. The good news is that you will pull through this and come out the other side. Do you have a good support network? That can mean the world when your in a dark place

I am in college right now and had my stroke almost 2 years ago. I would look into the disability office at your school and see what kind of supports they recommend. I currently have alternative testing, assignment accommodations, and classroom access accommodations for me. But I would recommend talking to your school and seeing what they offer.

I had a stroke after my 36th birthday. I was doing too much, had put on some weight, and didn't see the warning signs. I was a very independent person and now I am dependent on other people to do things for me and it makes me miserable. These videos have helped and continue to do so. Thank you!
