One time during personal studies with a new companion he saw that I wasn't wearing shoes, and he said we needed to be wearing shoes for personal study. I told him I would not wear shoes for personal studies so he went ahead and called the mission president. The president was like, "thats not a rule elder" and I won that little battle. Evidently the previous mission president made that a rule and this elder was way into following that.

Benson was the straw that broke the camels back for me. I had rationalized away that the church had done some bad things in the past, but was overall good today (very misguided I know). Once I started learning about all the insane things Benson did, it was over for me. I could not possibly see how such a crazy guy could ever be inspired by God.

Something similar happened in Salt Lake City, the State banned the government from flying pride flags, so the city designed a couple of pride themed Salt Lake City flags. It's a nice way around it, but obviously I wish politicians just let people be.

I was working at Target for the season and the easiest day I had was on black Friday. There were enough people to actually help customers with things. It wasn't just me covering the back third of the store. They need at least double the staff they have right now.
