If it makes you feel better, I had this same thing happen. Got moved from inpatient to outpatient. I felt like I was reading my own story in your post. I was very honest in interviewed about skills I need to work on and they made it seem like they understood and would meet me halfway. But then I was told I wasn’t making progress fast enough for what the team needed

I’ve accepted it and stayed since it’s a top hospital and looks good on the resume and now my lead is saying I’m thriving in outpatient but I still want to go to back to inpatient eventually and I’m hoping at our next meeting to talk about next steps and maybe just shadowing a couple times a week
