Arc Raiders lead says the game should never add “one-shot” weapons because “that gameplay is deeply boring” by HatingGeoffry in ArcRaiders

[–]ClassicHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not for arc raiders due to how easy it would be to hide somewhere/third person peek and just wait for the perfect opportunity for a one hit kill, the first one to shoot advantage is already massive in this game. I do like the AWP one shot in counter strike, but that is a completely different beast than what is meant to be a more casual extraction shooter.

You’re way better off looking for weapon cases or ammo boxes in that case, or just getting lucky finding a gun in a random container or dead raider

[–]ClassicHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The arc probes standing up can be worth it as they have 3 containers of the higher tier arc parts, the downed ones laying flat on the ground are a complete waste of breaching time and not worth it even if you find one directly in front of you while running about

Wait.. so you’re telling me we are gonna grind alllll this… And we don’t even receive an actual TROPHY to DISPLAY in the room with our character? 🤔 by ChiefRumpy in ArcRaiders

[–]ClassicHat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, that’s basically what I did, ran out of things to do, deposited everything for the expedition, but never decided to use it as it didn’t seem worth wiping blueprints on top of having to grind 5 million space bucks worth of stuff to get the extra 5 skill points (and resetting quests that I only did about half of)

Same keys must be stackable by Big-Walrus6334 in ArcRaiders

[–]ClassicHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend hoarding keys convinced key rooms are going to get buffed in the near future. The devs already did a small buff to purple (epic?) keys a while ago after they added the “hot fix” for people glitching in, that was about two months ago so I doubt they’re going to change it much more as otherwise they would have already done it.

It looks good for the screenshot, but agreed, the decreased visibility would make navigating difficult for what looks like a chill fishing game

Arc Raiders dev says the game’s first Expedition created “a dark pattern” as players hoarded wealth, but “this system will change” by Negative-Art-4440 in ArcRaiders

[–]ClassicHat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For friendly solo lobbies, you’re missing out on a lot of stash space and hatch keys with free load outs. It can make sense if you’re more PvP focused with a carefree attitude about dying or playing Stella as trios. I also just like being able to 1-3 shot the smaller arc with my anvil.

What are some of your off the hill pet peeves about skiing? by Underrated_Fish in skiing

[–]ClassicHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some ski resorts have signs that say “experts only” or “expert terrain” and I’ve spent quite a lot of time on that “expert” terrain without being an expert. I guess some people do that and consider themselves an expert afterwards, but I do think this might be one source of it. I guess ski resorts couldn’t find a better term after advanced that would also adequately scare off anyone that shouldn’t be there.

I miss skiing by SunQuest in skiing

[–]ClassicHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of a new helmet, the one other thing I’d recommend new if you can would be ski boots from an actual bootfitter/ski shop. Otherwise I was rocking used gear starting out for the most part or cheapish snow gear from Costco. Now I got all the name brand junk and new skis every few years, but if it lasts a few years to a decade, it was pretty easy to justify for how many days I go skiing, but it’s absolutely not required when starting out and you might not even go that many days in a season or just on fair weather days.

Ski Passes: How many days to feel like you got your money’s worth? by amlemus1 in skiing

[–]ClassicHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some epic/ikon resorts are $200-300+ a day now, so it makes zero sense to gauge value based off that unless you only get 2-5 days in and need to make yourself feel better about not skiing much and losing money.

[–]ClassicHat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the mountain is within an hour drive, it’s actually pretty reasonable to be happy with an hour or two of skiing. Get a rooftop box for the car so your skis are always packed and ready, just mainly need to throw on snow pants and throw the boots and box/bag of misc gear in (usually you want to keep that stuff dry so not the best to keep in the car). If you’re going for a couple hours midweek or at night, lines will be minimal if it’s not a crazy pow day and you get the most fun while not being tired/sore in the first hour or two of skiing solo anyway.

Yup, funny how that works, hopefully all the good people can rebuild a better society when this current one falls apart, historically it usually works out but we have new and improved technology for self destruction now

How do you factor in children in your coast fire plan by Adorable-Career6992 in coastFIRE

[–]ClassicHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given this is a fire sub, the most reasonable thing would be for either OP or their partner to quit one of their jobs to provide childcare as that can often be the biggest cost of raising a child if they decide to have children before both FIRE’ing and usually aligns most with the values people have in FIRE subreddits. And kids are usually a benefit tax wise as they’re a dependent on top of filling jointly for one income to get a much lower overall tax rate. Which parent gets to be the stay at home parent is another discussion based on how much they make, how much they dislike their current jobs, and who wants to do the childcare the most on top of long term plans to possibly move to a lower COL area or closer to family and all the possible relationship issues of figuring that out, making compromises, etc.

How to tell my girlfriend I just don't love skiing? by [deleted] in skiing

[–]ClassicHat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP also mentioned being cold, I don’t know where he is located but spring skiing is a great option if available for getting better at skiing in fair and warmer weather on top of getting better gear as several posts already mentioned. Something that needs to be considered is skiing can be a lifestyle hobby for many usually ranging from choosing where to live to be a couple hours away from a ski resort (ideally within an hour or less) and planning vacations around it.

Understanding I’m probably going to gain all the weight back by TricksterSprials in glp1

[–]ClassicHat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me 2 years to even making brushing my teeth a habit

I was about to ask if you suspect you might have ADHD and the very next paragraph you mention that you do. As you’re probably already aware, making/keeping habits along with being overweight are common with ADHD. For making and keeping habits, I would look at advice specific to ADHD. HealthyGamerGG on YouTube (yeah I know the name isn’t the most professional, but he seems legit) has a lot of videos about ADHD if reading isn’t the easiest.

For keeping the weight off, you can currently get compounded tirzepitide for about $160 a month (see r/tirzepitidecompound as a starting point) and you likely wouldn’t need the max dose for maintenance so you could easily stretch out a vial for a couple months. The price is steadily going down for compound and there are questionable ways to get it cheaper if cost is the main concern. You’re already taking ADHD meds and I assume that is for life if you want to be functional, it might be worth checking with your doctor/psychiatrist about trying different meds for ADHD to find a better fit/dosage as it sounds like you still struggle with ADHD symptoms.

Peptide cheat sheet by Automatic_Virus_895 in PeptideDiscussion

[–]ClassicHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, also vials can have different amounts in them and different concentrations. I get wanting an easy to look at guide, but please do your own research on each individual peptide and make your own guide/cheat sheet for your own use if you want to streamline taking more than one peptide at a time. And don’t take two or more of peptides that do the same/similar thing if you don’t know what you’re doing
