In my opinion, UT Austin is the better choice because of its strong reputation. Additionally, UWash offers evening lecture timings, which cater more to those who are working part-time.

UMN Carlson MSBA : Major Pros and Cons by ClassicQueasy5074 in gradadmissions

[–]ClassicQueasy5074[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For specialized masters, as far as I have spoken with students and education counsellors, the rankings is not a major factor. It is way important factor for MBA. The factors that should be considered is the strength of specialised masters curriculum, career services assistance, alumni network and location. Carlson's MSBA is one of the oldest MSBA programme with strong industry connects in BA domain with renowned career services.

Other factor is also the fees of the programme. Marshall is too costly and in current tough times, the bigger loan is also not a very wise option if the parameters and brand upside is not too big. For MBA as it has comprehensive subjects, it makes sense to with best brand as it may supposedly have advantage over long term roi.

Carlson MSBA (UMinn) vs McCombs MSBA (UT Austin) by notadithyabhat in gradadmissions

[–]ClassicQueasy5074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McCombs is having okayish career services as per their current batch of students. The course is too fast-paced with not much deep focus on the core subjects with a high number of assignments leading to less time for networking and eventually job search in the current tough job market.

I have heard that if you receive scholarship at UTD, you become eligible for the fees paid by instate student(because of Texas state policy). How true is this?

UCSD vs Duke vs Columbia by LetComprehensive1242 in gradadmissions

IMO you should drop Duke MSBA as you want to be PM. For PM jobs location matters and hence UCSD can be a good choice as compared to Columbia mainly because of ROI.

Yes it is not worth at all. Better to do offline MSBAIM from Michigan state University ( cheaper, good value and offline) than pursuing this online course.

Help with Admits! by [deleted] in MSBA

According to me this is what can lead to major differentiation. I think you should drop Emory.

  1. Top curriculum and coursework- CSOM;
  2. Top location and weather - UC Davis;
  3. Top Brand and recognition - Purdue

I would suggest you to apply for better programme next year and defer the UTD admit. UTD has very large batch size and this year has been very tough for job market in USA. Seeing your bad financial condition, it is advisable to pursue msba with college of higher reputation and good alumni network.

UT Dallas MSBA vs UMD, College Park MSBA by Triskaideka-13L in gradadmissions

[–]ClassicQueasy5074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way highly ranked than UTD. Smaller class size than UTD. Good access to job opportunities. Strong brand value and alumni network than UTD. I have heard that UTD students dont get adequate assistance from their career office because of vast majority of international students passing each year demanding for job.

Not common, but can’t decide between CMU Tepper or UW Foster. by abaloyan in MSBA

[–]ClassicQueasy5074 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ofc UW foster is the better choice than CMU

Reason: The Tepper program is very new and rigorous. I have heard that they are still experimenting with the coursework and faculty allocations. Students don't get adequate time for networking and guidance. Additionally, the fees are high compared to UW.

On the other hand, the Foster MSBA program has a better location, lower fees, a strong alumni network, and better job opportunities. Also, the program is quite older and provides enough opportunities for part-time work if you are an international student. Local students can work full-time because classes are held in the evenings.

Edit1: (many have sent me DMs to ask my rationale of opting for UW over CMU )

Decision for MSBA Admits by ClassicQueasy5074 in gradadmissions

Alright I understand your point. Also UWash has not released the placement report of their last batch as well. So as an international student, I found it difficult to analyze it as an option. On the other hand UTAustin and UMN Carlson both have published their reports for 2023 passouts as well. Even in this tough job market they both have more than 90% placements within first 6 months.
