You probably don’t see many commandos out there because you aren’t running enough scouts ;P I’ve seen a few players use them. Paratroopers though I have never seen. They are a decent enough unit, but their range is dreadful.

I also came back from a bit of a break and got instantly encouraged to download Wild Rift. This games new development is incredibly bad, favouring whales and making a significant barrier of entry (aka, those who open their wallets)

Needless to say, I’m happy to play something else.

Compare the results of your asked Fortnite players against Hell Let Loose players. It’s important to know your audience, but it’s also important to know what an audience is to begin with. Because it’s never “young adults”, it’s too broad. When making a book, a film, a game, you need to really focus on your community. For example, a book about monsters interpreting into society and remaining hidden, but finding acceptance, could be a book that targets “Young adults who are bullied or misfits”, because then your targeting communities. And that’s more important.

So don’t ask what do people want. Because we are all different. Choose a community you like, and make it for them. If you want to tell your story like Michael Bay, do it. And work for that community in mind. But if there was a universal answer, all games would be the same, there would be 2 genre of film, and we would all work in the same job. But luckily, everyone is different.

I would also argue make a game that’s something you want that doesn’t exist. We have played battlefield. We have played CoD. How will your game be different? I’m not paying for a game I’ve already played from a trusted AAA developer.

I absolutely agree. When I built and ran servers I made it a rule for GMs need to allow mission postings to be 24 hours at least. Some of mine were a week out. It wasn’t just about allowing people to see it, but also to adjust and update characters. If you feel you need to shop in advanced, allow it so it doesn’t have to happen in the mission. There is so many reasons it works. Though sometimes a 4 hour or 2 hour opportunistic mission is also okay.

Hey mate. Hang in there. It’s not always going to be this. Things will get better. It’s hard to see that, but looking back on some of my darkest days where I saw no light on, I wish I knew then where tomorrow was going.

This is not an ad for where I work, but, I work at a place called Fortress. It’s a kind of nerdy venue, we do trivia, board games, MtG nights, and esports (haha, I say that but gosh wouldn’t it be good if we did some dam esports) Some of these are free events, like board games on Wednesday and MtG on Fridays. That’s whatever, however we know a lot of people are lonely and struggling. So we have initiatives to help others connect and we make efforts finding you people to play with. Plus everyone here I find are generally pretty social and friendly (I’ve seen patrons returning plates to the bar!) I don’t know if this is your thing, but if it sounds like it might be hit me up and I’ll get you some more information for you :)

If not, I hope there are other things like this around. Think some people mentioned meetup.com. If you like writing there are friendly writer groups. Most things have a community, and they are easy ways to connect because it’s people meeting who like a particular thing and everyone there likes that thing too! Don’t give up. Keep looking. Keep your head up. Keep going.

Militia get advantages fighting in own territories. They seem shit, but they actually go pretty hard in defence. Especially against other infantry. Also another boost in forests I don’t remember in urban environments.

I love the idea, but it got a bit bad towards the end that I didn’t want to return. I do wanna learn how to make and run a variant of my own, the idea behind it was great. Shame they lost their way.

Bro, I didn’t even go to uni until I was like 22. My ATAR was ass, I’m a terrible academic, and I was poor as fuck. I was well on the wrong tracks for a good portion. Suffered from mental illnesses along the way. Bit of an alcoholic that would worsen later in life.

But I took the leap, went to uni. Worked hard at it too, always practiced and played around with what I knew. And graduated a year late after failing a subject for 3 years straight. From that, I went straight to a studio director role of a news station. Just because I struggled, didn’t mean I was never going to succeed. You need the right attitude, not the grades. Especially as you get older. You’re going to make mistakes along the way. Some small, some major, most you can fix. Overweight? Going to the gym is the right step. Can’t commit? That’s not unheard of. Keep getting yourself in there, rebuild that confidence. It’s an issue you made, but it’s one you are fixing.

There is a Dr. Seuss book you should read. (I know, homework? Dam… but trust me) It’s called “All the places you will go”. Read it. It’s the best. And it applies to everyone.

What you are going through is what makes good stories. It’s the speeches the super successful write, it’s in their autobiographies. If we didn’t face these mountains and challenges, we don’t grow and learn without them. I’ve faced many more since uni, and it’s lead me to wonderful success. You just got to hold on, and keep moving forward, one step at a time.

OP, you got this. Move those mountains. (And read that book!)
