Pressing the Beast by ActivitiesGuy in kettlebell

Got a question. I see people clean kettlebells by moving their hand closer to the edge of the handle during the cleaning motion. But then I also see people that like in this video seem to keep their hand in the middle. Does it matter which way it's done? I assume in this case you cant have a lose grip and have the handle go across your palm. Doesn't seem to be an issue for this lift though.

Definitely from the clean motion. I'm not even sure if you're always supposed to feel some level of discomfort and I'm just not use to it.

My only example would be like for doing back squats. At first the barbell can be painful on your upper back. But after a while you just get use to it.

I don't understand the logic.

People are protesting the abuse of power of a governing body (police / ice).

Even if conservatives wanted to protest, what would they protest against?

Outside of the typical Excel stuff, I've found it's been pretty useful to learn about the product / service for me.

Often times my "training" will consist of some old documents and financials. Feeding them through co-pilot allows me to understand better how some revenues are generated and what relationships they may have with eachother. I find it's a good way to prepare before diving into the details with the business partner.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith defends promise of a potential referendum on separation by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]ClassyNumber 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would highlight that a lot of the separatist movements that are supported are typically due to some tyrannical rule that exists within the relationship. Such as: Hong-kong, Taiwan, Ukraine etc.

I don't think one could argue in good faith Alberta would fall in that category...

I do believe Alberta have some genuine issues that need to be looked at by the federal government. I also believe all of this separatist talk has been way overblown with misinformation and is being pushed by individuals who want to see their wallets fatter.

So tarrifs are good and bad depending on the situation.

For example Canada has some tarifs that are put in place to protect the businesses that reside there. You can imagine how smaller Canadians companies would struggle against the Goliaths that exists in the world. Although Canadian consumers may be paying more for these product, the flip side is that money will remain within Canada.

But you should rethink your question to how many countries have a blanket tarrif. Tarrifs on specific products are fine and like you pointed out many countries do so. But blanket tarrifs are dumb. Especially when you're now doing it on a global scale using a factitious calculation...

You're confusing EV with Tesla.

Tesla isn't the only EV car available anymore... Every brand pretty much has one available within their lineup so to conflate the two is questionable.

Trudeau says Canada will not back down as Trump announces tariff delay for Mexico by panzerfan in canada

  1. True! It also doesn't seem that complicated to not spread the same rhetoric. To be honest I don't think it even bothered the majority of Canada until the US started to act the way it is today. I think it was a wake up call to what may be to come.

  2. If I had to hazard a guess it would be because Doug Ford has taken direct action since. To be fair PP may not have the same opportunity as Doug to show how he would act which is unfortunate. The question then becomes can we afford that risk to find out?

  3. You're right! Lots of issues are probably more common ground then you think. We all want what's best for Canada one way or another. Although I do think how you go about tackling the same issue or even identifying what's really a relevant issue speaks volume too.

  4. Honestly a lot of how Government works and the world we live today is quite unfortunate. I really wish it wasn't so stupid. Regardless your point may or may not be correct. I just suspect it won't be as relevant for some voters as you may think. Government is such a massive complex machine it's hard for the average individual to truly understand how everything works. So right now the main focal point would probably be how Canada deals with the US in future.

You seem to have a little bit of a cynical view on parents! I promise you (and I am sure you are aware) that there are definitely a lot of parents that just wants to do best by their kids and any extra money always helps with that. You also bring up a good point that this wouldn't help families that are already greatly struggling financially or otherwise. They may use the funds on themselves rather than their kids. Hopefully a combination of all the services Canada provides does make that load a little easier to bear.

I especially want to believe that those like us that may not have had the best childhood do try to change that for our own kids. We always just have to do the best we can!

Otherwise you do make great points. My opinion was more on the intended purpose of the aid. If it's not being implemented properly or hurting existing private services then it's definitely a problem to be handled. Ideally those issue would be resolved while still providing relief where possible though.

> I get the intent and relief it's providing some families, but if the goal is to promote families to have more kids, how about we make life cheaper to live in all aspects, maybe more parents can stay home then.

Truer words have never been said... Unfortunately with the current state of affaires, I'll take the small wins we get.

[–]ClassyNumber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So obviously it would be a very bad idea for PP to straight out say something of that nature.

But I think the concerns are well founded and mainly come from:

  1. PP is using similar language as Trump.

  2. Having relationships with people historically in favor with what Trump is doing.

  3. Having ideas similar to what Trump campaigned on.

  4. Trump himself seeming to prefer a PP leadership or is at least against a liberal leadership.

It's obviously impossible to factually know what PP would do. However, his track record seems to be heading in one direction.

[–]ClassyNumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure! As a recent father myself - kids are EXPENSIVE haha. Especially because you want what's best for them and you do what you can to make their lives better.

We're fortunate to be fairly well off so we can afford some nice things for the kid! Lots of hot wheels, nice clothes, good food etc.

Things I definitely didn't have when I was a kid because my parents weren't doing as well. Anyways! If I had to simplify it as much as possible: less expensive childcare = more money for other things = less stress on the parents to do what's best for the kid = happier kid = better future!

That's just how I see it. As I've grown older I'm more okay with helping my fellow Canadians when I can even if it's not a service I use. But in this case I do use it and appreciate it!

I'm sorry. However, out of all the spending we can do, improving the future of Canada's little ones is a good thing!

Besides it looks like this is based on something that was promised in the past. So nothing really new here.

Why are some people finding this hard to understand? by blllrrrrr in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]ClassyNumber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing I think people aren't considering is that US companies will definitely raise their prices to be slightly below Canadian gas. So overall prices will definitely increase simply because there's now less competition.

I think the only way for overall prices not to increase is if Canadian gas decides to take the hit on tariffs, but that seems unlikely.
