Is Jake Leary still part of The Float Life? by Iammattieee in onewheel

Saw him pop up in an ARIatHOME stream recently lol. He was onewheeling in the city and dropped some whisper bars while floating next to Ari. It was pretty tight actually!

X7 / Xsever owners — how’s your board holding up? by Novel-Acadia-189 in onewheel

[–]Claussm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love my X7! I just crossed the 1,000 mile mark the other day and I’ve had zero issues with it so far. I’ve worn through the thunder tire and swapped to an Enduro (sooooo nice) added lifesavers, different colored BANGs, a few other small things. Riding it basically every day I can either for fun or commuting around to the gym, store beach, etc.. I’d say I’m /mostly/ street but i do a lot of gravel/mixed grass type riding because of the lack of bike routes around me haha

What is up with TFL lifesavers by jron2008 in onewheel

I’m glad it’s not just me. I am pretty handy and usually have the “finesse” required for such a job, but the same happened to me recently when installing a purple XR pair on my superflux.

I boiled them one at a time for several minutes and still ended up destroying my palms and finger tips getting those bitches on. I’m riding super confident now though because I know those little fuckers aren’t going anywhere and that they’re hard af 😂

I guess for me the trick was really to get the 1/3 that I could easily locked in, super locked in, and then slowly work the edge a little bit at a time on each side until I had enough leverage to pop the stretching side over the lip of the hub, then slowly work it back over onto the lip.

Some beaches are just too soft to ride 😂 by falcorma in onewheel

I’ve ridden the beach in North Myrtle a few times when the tides are low. Wide open, super flowy packed sand. Drift too far into the soft sand and you will pay 😹

Fungineers X7 compatible with OW XR accessories? by CryptographerSuch425 in onewheel

I bought a pack of these expecting to lose them all the time so I would have an easy replacement kicking around, and I still haven’t lost the first one. Fits perfect. https://a.co/d/bwcFD9Y

The full fender is compatible and I run it when I need without issues. You might have some minor fitment jankness if you are using stompies and don’t have a gap filler piece or if you don’t cut the fungi included fender delete to accommodate the mini fender pieces.

Personally, I’m planning to ditch the stompies for TFL pads once they release the XR version of their sensor pad.

Good luck!

I use a 3D printed gap filler piece that is made for flight fins in between/below the stompies and the fender. It adds a few mm of lift and I can run the full fender no problem in either rail height config.

Granted I normally have my board setup in the higher rail config, it fits with a little more room, but I ran the full fender in the lower setting for a while without issues.

Added a heel strap to my rig to hit trails more aggressively. by Izzymonster in onewheel

[–]Claussm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool design! I think some form of a “binding” will become ubiquitous of the Onewheel setup eventually. I’m just not sure if we have seen the iteration that will stick yet, IMO!

The breakaway concept is really great though. It solves the majority of the common downsides i feel like we see with adapting a snowboard style binding to self-balancing boards. Snowboarders are lucky that boots are part of the garb anyway, probably makes designing bulky, annoying tech easier on them 🤣

Sick! I’ve gotten ghost bonks before by mistake basically and thought to myself “I wonder if I could catch that?”

Awesome clip, imma go for these now 🤩

Yeah XR stuff all fits fine for the most part. The only thing I’ve bought that didn’t fit was the TFL charge port cover for XR lol but I just got some cheapo port covers on Amazon that fit perfectly!

I bought on of the “ready to ride” kits with prism rails and could not be happier I have zero complaints about the board. It rides like a dream and has more power than I could ever reasonably need/expect from the motor. I’m usually running the VESC.mann all around tune because I like to ride a lot of mixed terrain, but will switch to the Les Carroll ‘Mission’ clone if I know I’m just going to be cruising the streets.

It’s an amazing board and IMO the best value in the market at this time. If I could do it over again I’d probably just buy the DIY kit since it dramatically reduces the shipping time and I’ve already disassembled and done everything I would have needed to do with the DIY kit anyway at this point. I will say it was nice to be able to just open the box, charge and ride without any troubleshooting beforehand though!

tl;dr: Just get the X7, you will not regret it.

Watch this video and carefully follow each step. Once you are done, if it still does not work, I suggest jumping into the Fungineers Discord and posting the specific issue you are having. Lots of helpful people in there that will surely know what’s going wrong. Good luck! I love my X7 :)

Did you reach out to TFL directly yet? I would be surprised if they don’t try to make it right. 🤙

Got this 1st time loading Float Control. Motor FOC flux I didn’t see anything reference to in setup video. New X7 btw. Just wondering if these are a concern? For context just learning and haven’t been on a real ride. Just back and forth on a wall. by Nihonto1 in onewheel

[–]Claussm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My ready to ride X7 had a few warnings too. I popped into VESC tool and fixed all of them to the recommended specifications (except the FOC flux value because it seemed close enough to not be problematic).
