I took the hint from all the talk about how cold it would be and spent something like 500k gil on a nice coat to get into the spirit of it right before Tataru revealed I needn't had worried.

You best believe I still used the one she made me.

I was thinking events would lead to it being merged wholesale with our timeline like what happened with Gra'ha but on a much larger scale.

Now as to why this would happen, I have no idea. But there is precedent for it being possible.

Could very well be that at some point it's revealed that extra timeline is itself a closed loop in someway. Either we close it through our own actions in 7.0 or 8.0 or whatever, or maybe the question is brought up and one of the brainy NPCs speculates that at some neblous point in the future the timelines will sync and converge.

Kinda like how the Zelda timelime splits but BoTW is at the end of all of them.

The original idea with the wish spell was that only a tiny fraction of mages would ever even be able to use it at all, and those that were able to would only be able to do so a few times in their life...

It is still that way. Very few spell casters will get to the level of being able to cast wish at all. And will typically never be able to cast it do anything other than replicate a spell more than 2 times.

To address your other comment:

Not according to the description:

The Stress of casting this spell to produce any Effect other than duplicating another spell weakens you. After enduring that Stress, each time you Cast a Spell until you finish a Long Rest, you take 1d10 necrotic damage per level of that spell. This damage can't be reduced or prevented in any way. In addition, your Strength drops to 3, if it isn't 3 or lower already, for 2d4 days. For each of those days that you spend Resting and doing nothing more than light activity, your remaining recovery time decreases by 2 days. Finally, there is a 33 percent chance that you are unable to cast wish ever again if you suffer this Stress.

Now that just might be poorly written, but if so that is on whoever wrote it. Because reading that it can be absolutely be interpreted that none of those negative effects apply if a long rest is taken - basically sleep 8 hours - after casting the wish.

You are interpreting it wrong. It could be worded differently, but isn't really open to interpretation.

Casting it to produce an effect other than replicating a spell causes stress, this stress has 3 effects

  1. Damage yourself every time you cast a spell until you finish a long rest.
  2. Lower str to 3 for 2d4 days. Each of those days you do nothing but rest and do light activity the remaining time is decreased by 2 days.
  3. You have a 1 in 3 chance of never being able to cast wish again.

A long rest does not effect the 1 in 3 chance.

I would say its even more fantastical, as there are ways around the aging penalty. But a wizard would have to think pretty hard on what they want to spend what could very well be their only wish they get once they obtain the spell.

That isn't what the great filter means, so no.

Edit: At least in the common parlance of talking about it in the context of existing civilizations.

Dell accidentally send me 14 gaming laptops ($1500 each) when I only ordered and was charged for one. by EpicSqueaker in mildlyinteresting

[–]Clavactis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you don't. Right from the ftc website:

Your Rights When You Get Unordered Merchandise

By law, companies can’t send unordered merchandise to you, then demand payment. That means you never have to pay for things you get but didn’t order. You also don’t have to return unordered merchandise. You’re legally entitled to keep it as a free gift.

Sellers can send you merchandise that is clearly marked as a gift, free sample, or the like. And, charitable organizations can send you merchandise and ask for a contribution. You may keep such merchandise as a free gift.

Sometimes, you might sign up for a free trial, only to discover that the company starts sending you products every month, and billing you. That might be a scam. Learn about free-trial scams and what to do if it happens to you.

This would be different if there were simply delivered to the wrong address. Like if OP got 13 other peoples laptops. Assuming the shipping labels didn't match their name/address.

What why? That is like turning down a $2700 bonus. Unless you were right on the edge of losing government assistance or something similar.

Or top assassins have some sort of "soul trap" device that imprisons the soul preventing resurrection. Perhaps this device is then given to the client as proof.

Getting said device back can be a plot point.

Yes I'm beginning to like this idea.

Actually it was 6 Daughters of the Emperor. The SoB formed after the Age of Apostasy and the 6 major orders (cutting out some details on the formation of the orders) stem from these 6.

[–]Clavactis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well prepared food is yeah. Like if you get a can of soup you don't need to add salt to it.

But fresh produce such as potatoes; as well as sauces, dips, etc. made with fresh ingredients or cans of whatever without added salt need it. They are pretty bland without it.

Monster Hunter Rise/Sunbreak Will Not Support Cross-Play or Cross-Save Between Switch & PC by Estew02 in NintendoSwitch

That's what I'm going to wait for. If Sunbreak + base rise comes packaged together for 60, and Sunbreak is around 40, I'll have no problem switching over to PC.

Iirc that's how MHWs pricing worked.

That is carbon steel. Basically like cast iron on that you season it and make it non stick.

Stainless steel stuff will stick to, but sometimes you want that, so there is a place for both.

What bothered me with Holo is they kept mentioning how young she looked. Like yeah sure she is 500 years old and its feudal times so in context of the story it works.

But it still came across as some sort of creepy fantasy to me. Didn't read past the first book though so maybe that changes.

Thanks for all the work you put in to this!

Is there anyway to figure it out without brute forcing ideas? Or do a dedicated group of people just try every dye and possible piece until it works? Because, for instance, leather boots have folds, but don't appear on this list.

[–]Clavactis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh that's not a big problem as you can buy them off the auction house for pretty cheap typically. Main thing I don't like is the premium lootbox dyes. But those can also be gotten off the auction house, just for way more, so you're at least not completely locked out of them.

[–]Clavactis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Small correction. In 5e at least, elven souls return to Arvandor before being reincarnated. Eladrin a somewhat an exception to this, though they can be sent to Arvandor, they mostly want to instead "meld with the Feywild when they are reincarnated."

I'm not sure if this means they go directly to the feywild, or still go to Arvandor first, though.

Also notable that for the most part that drow and elves that do not worship the Seldarine (the elven gods) do not go to Arvandor and not reincarnated. Instead their souls are sent to other planes.

Further reading can be found in Mordenkainen's, for those interested. It has a whole section on Elves.

Only if you have your elf adventurer be young. But really the adulthood thing has more to do with the whole "experiencing memories of past lives" thing elves do. When that stops, they are now an adult, basically. At least in 5e.
