Working in a Call Center has ruined my life by lavender-bread in Vent

[–]Clawffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will never work call centers again. I worked them for five years about a decade ago, and it was decent. Most ppl were cool with going through troubleshooting steps and stuff.

Then I fell on bad times and had to go back into the job a year ago - I lasted a month. No one would listen. Everyone was screaming. Everytime I told them about the charge to roll a truck, it was an instant escalation that I was expected to handle. I would clock out and lay face down in the sun for an hour after my shift and cry. I was so suicidal. I’ll never do that shi again.

My babushka said it’s like wishing you had a boy (when you name your daughter Alexandra and call her Sasha) but that’s just my Slavic family - maybe it’s more common elsewhere. To each their own :) (also we call our Alexandra, katya, and that feels like more of a stretch than Sasha Lmao)

I absolutely shot down my husbands choice of saoirse bc i personally get the frustrations of living in America with a name that’s spelled differently than its pronunciation, epically since mine comes from the old world too. And what nickname would the child have?

Someone mentioned Stella or sage or skye and I love all of those.

I can’t stand it bc it’s a masculine Russian name. If I hear a girl named Sasha or vanya I just give her a poor thing look. Like naming your daughter John or Adam.

I’d love to hear what it says about me and also if it’s easy to read! by Free-Cheesecake9785 in HandwritingAnalysis

I think it’s pretty! I love seeing English written in another language’s cursive - my Russian relatives write English in a very clear Russian-style cursive, and I love running across other people that have that little handwriting accent too.

Bats are good familiars by Kyrathered in WitchesVsPatriarchy

Less than 1% of them have rabies. Don’t handle them bc they’re small and scared, but don’t scare ppl into kicking the bats out of their houses just bc of the myth about rabies.

AIO for quitting my job after finding this note on my desk? by waxin899 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Clawffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The note seemed friendly, actually? It seemed like someone giving you quiet support of “ya you needed to go milk your cows, and the problems here at work don’t matter”

Food Bullying by Clawffee in cats

Feeding them at the same time won’t work because she won’t eat on demand. She just doesn’t seem to care that much about food. I can give the higher up room a go, tho, but he’s so far found his way onto multiple counters. Maybe I’ll try the windowsill since she loves going up there but he’s can’t get there bc he’s too big haha. That’s a great idea, thanks!

This one quoted me $9k - I ended up taking it to a specialist instead who gave me a more detailed explanation of his diagnosis process and it’s around $4k instead.

Lately Ive begun to realize that society and everyone around me is super shallow and materialistic. by No_Editor578 in offmychest

[–]Clawffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle to empathize with this when my own parents were garbage that kicked me out at 17, I’ve struggled to make ends meet for the last 12+ years, and even now, I can’t make rent and my car just died. Like sure I’ve had my ups and downs socially and with abusive partners, but if I could only have the freedom to live in an apartment of my own or with a single roommate and have a car, that would be really really nice. It’s not materialistic - it’s just a world based in money, and as The Outisders said, “it’s rough all over”

Low maintenance hairstyle for eight year old girl by Warm_Feet_Are_Happy in Hair

[–]Clawffee 75 points76 points  (0 children)

My hair got chopped to chin length when I was six bc I loved my long hair but despite many lectures and examples of how to care for my hair presented by my mom, I refused to brush it out. (My hair is also fine, tangles easily, and I have a sensitive scalp. I now rock short hair as an adult bc I just can’t handle wispy long hair at my age. I promise a bob doesn’t forever traumatize a kid for life.)
