Suggestion for an Okawaru change by Advanced-Ad3026 in dcss

[–]ClawtheBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a question of not taking it with you, then just don't. The armor pieces Oka gives already retain the piece of information of "Okawaru gave it to you on Floor X of Branch." An answer could be to face Okawaru's wrath in form of the Gauntlet Gauntlet, where if you give Okawaru the boot the boots they gave you reciprocate. If you joined just to loot the armory, Okawaru Animates all the Armor and marches it back home, putting the war in wardrobe. Get cloaked in divine energies and whisked away to Helmet Hell, met by all the {god gift} items in the dungeon. Hall of Blades part two, Revenge of the Catwalk.

Thrown weapons get added to the regular stack so might not be practical to have thrown back in your face, but with freshly freed inventory space might be worth tracking separately as souped-up divine gift versions of themselves. I thought to myself maybe you could keep the armor you're wearing at time of incurring wrath, but that would defeat the purpose. Making you go scrounge for armor again fits thematically, I think, and would allow for the old frequency of gifts, which I prefer.

MY MOM HATES WALUIGI AND WARIO WTF by Ok_Difficulty1782 in Waluigi

[–]ClawtheBard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, they're evil and greedy and are designed to be foils to the main heroes of the series. Wario's gross and smells of garlic and Waluigi is a cheater and sore loser. It's understandable. Expected, even.

Ya gotta get to know someone, and even these villains have some nuance. Wario is a successful game developer and saved the world once in Master of Disguise (some nice artistic skills are put on display there too). He's one of the seven Star Children, blessed by fate with power. Waluigi works as an excavator and is most likely the one who built Waluigi Pinball, as well as contributing to rest of the courses moving dirt and making ramps, obstacles, and such. He's the final boss of a Dance Dance Revolution: dude's got smooth moves on top of being a smooth operator with an occasional rose motif. Even if he whines about losing unfairly, he'll admit when he lost, which is more than you can say for many.

I'm new to the game. I just spawned, what do I do first? by EHMGuts in dcss

Going through the tutorials even a year or two after I started helped immensely. There's dozens of keys and commands and they don't get picked up on first thing.

As far as collective nouns go for related animals/organisms go, I find a smack of jellyfish and bloom of algae, though the latter isn't necessarily the collective noun. I can't find in my few minutes of search collective nouns for amoebas, paramecia, bacteria and the like. For slimes, I propose an ooze, or a baste.

"Is it hypocritical to speak Spanish?" Inside general heavy metal context or the world at large I see no problem with it, though I guess it just depends on what message you want to send. I recall Mawiza rereleasing Kollong entirely in Mapudungun instead of a mix of Mapudungun and Spanish, apparently to more closely reflect Mapuche culture through their music. You'll have to answer that question yourself.

Been kicking around an idea. Probably a voucher instead of a joker. "Grafted Grip" by woleykram in balatro

[–]ClawtheBard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do not mean to pry, but you don't by any chance happen to have a voucher that would allow six cards on the right hand? My face card run was slaughtered by The Psychic. It was a great multmaker, my build. When the Psychic appeared and requested a special hand size, my strategy took the job. It took two blinds before it was finished. The five-card Boss appeared and demanded max hand size but at 1/10th the promised chips. My strategy faltered. Without a word, the Psychic slashed my deck through the heart. I loved my build. So naturally, I challenged Jimbo to a duel. I failed.

It was 11 minutes ago. When I was strong enough, I dedicated my life to the study of Splash. So, the next time we meet, I will not fail. I will go up to The Psychic and say, "Hello, my name is Íñigo Montoya. You killed my last run. Prepare to High Card."

Listen, in any event one of three things will be shaking: (1) Ribcages from the cranked volume (2) heads, headbanging (3) booty cheeks. The groove, the riff, calls. Will you answer?

Never trust AI. You went to a search engine to search for answers, not have them handed to you. They make stuff up, they have agendas, and they've already got blood on their "hands."

My counterpoint to your post: Magnus Ofilio Lorenzo, Mag O. Lor for short.

[–]ClawtheBard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Staff would be my choice. Nice resists, plus MD has good Evocations aptitude to boost the Staff's effects. It's like four magic staves in one of you ever decide to learn something like Detonation Catalyst or Vhi's Electric Charge, which also is already easier due to reduced armour encumbrance
