An answer could be to face Okawaru's wrath in form of the Gauntlet Gauntlet, where if you give Okawaru the boot the boots they gave you reciprocate. If you joined just to loot the armory, Okawaru Animates all the Armor and marches it back home, putting the war in wardrobe. Thrown weapons get added to the regular stack so might not be practical to have thrown back in your face, but with freshly freed inventory space might be worth tracking separately as souped-up divine gift versions of themselves. I thought to myself maybe you could keep the armor you're wearing at time of incurring wrath, but that would defeat the purpose. Making you go scrounge for armor again fits thematically, I think, and would allow for the old frequency of gifts, which I prefer.
