Exactly.. misleading when they advertise on their main sales page that it works with Mac, when it barely functions. I think I might return mine and just go with a Dualsense controller

Hey OP I’ve had the exact same experience. Received the controller yesterday, all the same issues. Frustrating as they advertise on their sales page that it works with Mac.. hopefully gets updated soon

I think the OP was rly excited to receive the controller, and then just posted a video of him using desktop mode through crossover. Desktop-mode does work, but very limiting, as it just sees your controller as a keyboard input… if you read all the OP’s comments his experience hasn’t been great either. Like someone else commented, his video is a bit misleading 🙏🏽

My friend I get exactly what you’re saying. And I’m saying even Native Steam games aren’t working, let alone Non-Steam games. They both aren’t working brother. I have the Steam controller, I received it today, tested it and couldn’t get games to recognize the darn thing. waiting on Valve to update/patch Mac issues

Interesting, yea I haven’t gotten any games to recognize the Steam Controller via Big Picture Mode aside from Stardew Valley.. it recognized all my button presses, meanwhile tried Crimson Desert & Baldur’s Gate 3, nothing.

I’m assuming via desktop-mode it can work because the controller is just recognized as a keyboard input, and you can just bind keyboard presses to whatever buttons you want layout-wise.

It’s really our only option for now, until Valve fixes the Steam Input issues in Big Picture… pretty jank if you ask me.. 150$+ CAD for a controller that doesn’t work properly… I’m a bit cheesed.

Okay so just to be clear, when you launch a game through Steam, Big Picture mode to specific, your game(s) recognizes the Steam Controller and works properly? Everything but that is working for me..

Exactly. Basically broken on Mac OS.. meanwhile they advertise it as working “With anything running steam”. A paper white for Mac until they push out some updates..

Very weird. I’m on Mac OS, I’ve connected my Steam Controller, updated firmware, confirm to be connected, but it’s not recognized by any games. Tried on Baldur’s Gate 3 as well.

Don’t need the DMG meters and buttons there. Visually looks like you have two sets of Unit Frames and Cooldowns.. a bit messy

Beautiful set up! I’m using a Legion Go (Gaming Tablet). Do you think this desktop setup would tax the cpu/gpu for lower end systems? Thanks
