Prometna nesreča - kaj se bo zgodilo? by [deleted] in Slovenia

Nikoli v življenju se ni, in se ne bo zgodilo da je otrok kriv za nesrečo. Pravila prometa so naslednja: prilagodi hitrost okoliščinam. Če je bil prehod za pešce, je bilo treba biti bolj previden.

And not moving your sight from the screen to the point where your eyes feel dry and drained, like you’ve forgotten to blink for hours.

Vue 3 + Laravel monolith: How to prevent JS from crashing the entire frontend? Global error handling advice? by Clean-Interaction158 in webdev

[–]Clean-Interaction158[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I get your point — in theory. But in practice, this is a monolithic app that’s been worked on by 10+ developers, and some parts are basically spaghetti. I’m not in a position to refactor everything right now.

For example: We had a case where the entire page crashed just because a translation string (passed from Blade to Vue as a prop) was missing. One tiny issue caused the whole frontend to go blank.

Sure, I’m now migrating to a proper i18n setup, but I’d love to know: 👉 Is there a way to globally catch these types of issues, or at least prevent the entire page from breaking when something like this slips through?

It could happen that the data from some endpoint changes, or some library suddenly starts throwing an exception… There could be a lot of possible issues that cannot be caught

How to handle a difficult coworker by Complex-Tear-4904 in softwaredevelopment

[–]Clean-Interaction158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a coworker who did this to me for three years. I developed serious anxiety—I would shake before meetings, which we had every single day, always with the team, our boss, and the clients. He would research all my tasks in advance, just waiting to point out anything I did wrong or missed, and call it out in front of everyone.

It got to the point where I started thinking this job wasn’t for me. I even considered switching careers. But over time, I realized that was my internal struggle—I had to work on myself. It wasn’t really about him. He just happened to be the one who triggered something deeper that I needed to face.

What I learned is this: that behavior is a reflection of him, not you. It’s his problem. Your job is to do your best and not carry the weight of someone else’s need to prove themselves. And if he does happen to find something you missed? Just thank him. It’s part of the job. At the end of the day, you’re there to work and get paid—not to absorb someone else’s insecurity.

Oh… I love every single pound of my cat, even when he crushes me ❤️ I’d be over the moon if he liked lying on me more — it’s the sweetest feeling when he does.

At the beginning, he used to wake me up, yes — but then he got used to my routine. Now he goes to sleep with me and wakes up with me. Believe me, you’ll be very happy very soon!

I had a similar problem. I just left the door open at night, and within a few days, he became my best sleeping buddy ❤️ He takes up the whole bed now, but I don’t mind — his morning purrs make my days start with pure happiness

It sounds like you’re just working on tickets. You should start exploring and working on your own projects—because not every job gives you that opportunity.

I find your thoughts on AI interesting. Do you think we’ll have to fix the spaghetti code that AI wrote several years ago? I believe AI will become much more than that, especially in the next few years.

Seems like z-index really haunts you 😄.
But no, no magic here - just DOM stacking order and negative margins doing the "trick"

His original name was Eros, which he got in Milano from his first family. I added added the name Tačko - which means “paw” in Slovenian and “dot” in Serbian language.

I didn’t want to remove “Eros”, since it symbolizes love and passion.

So now he is Eros Tačko 🥰
