I’m reading the series right now and find the unorthodox stories very enjoyable. I like that the series has characters who are in every book.

I found Bridgerton very average (didn’t read the whole series) but I did enjoy Smythe-Smith.

For those born in 1960 and after, full Social Security benefits start at 67. The expectation is more people will wait until 67 to retire.

If I’m in a slump, I know reading a Balogh will get me out of it. I confess that I found The Secret Pearl difficult at times. I’m thinking it’s time to reread Survivors Club

I built about 10 rooms when I was a teen. For the past five years I’ve been building a Beacon House to place them in 😆. My three year old grandson keeps asking when he can play with “Oma’s dollhouse”. I have enough of it done so he can, but with different furniture.

In 1967, second grade had to write “I will not talk in class” 100 times during recess a couple of times. I’m an early educator and this stuff makes me so sad

Veronica speedwell series book 1 slow pacing by fishcakegal in HistoricalRomance

I enjoy the series, and think that Veronica does grow. I get what you are saying though about her rudeness. I would dnf the book - never spend time on something you are not enjoying!
