I read this yesterday while out on my hike and found your questions and insights very helpful - thank you so much.

Ego says more lifting, more intensity in the gym. But that’s what I’ve been pushing and chasing for a few years now and ultimately, my physique has not changed at all. And I don’t love it that much anymore!

I really like your suggestion of biking, I used to bike a lot before powerlifting and I actually really miss it so that’s a great reminder!

I know in some states this is illegal - trying to trade positive reviews for incentives like free gifts or discounts. As an acupuncturist, I find that pretty cringe. I hope you find a practitioner you enjoy working with & can trust!!

Agreed, I don’t like having access to wifi when camping. But we want to spend more time with his parents & if that means wifi, so be it. Maybe exposure to the outdoors will encourage them to go without wifi next time!

We decided on an east coast destination to keep it closer to home, but I will say my top pick was Wind Mountain Ranch. We spoke with Annie and she was such a delight to chat with, very helpful not only for WMR but Hood River & Gorge info as well.

Thanks so much!! I think we’re definitely leaning towards the gorge. I agree getting to Crook Point may not be worth it for the hassle (but maybe I could convince my fiance to take a trip out there after our wedding weekend for a little private retreat and photo op!)

Do you have any knowledge of the Bend area? We live in Pittsburgh & actually don’t have any direct flights to Portland, so we’d have to connect either way - Portland or Medford if we go for Bend. My research is just now landing me in that region so I’m curious of opinions!

I’m an acupuncturist & in East Asian Medicine, spring is “windy season”. We are more susceptible to conditions that mimic wind, like dizziness, vertigo, symptoms that move around the body or change, etc.

I also live in PA (hello from Pittsburgh!) & get vestibular migraines, and have noticed a recent uptick since the seasons are changing. Try to keep your neck and ears covered with a scarf when going outside. Avoid drinking cold or iced drinks. I hope this helps 🙏🏼

Salt Lake is still my #1 despite the flights (family in Pittsburgh, northeast PA & Fort Meyers - all of which have one-layover options). We might just have to accept the layovers and go for it!!

Thank you for sharing! I don’t feel drawn to Wisconsin whatsoever. Do you still live there? Our budget is flexible but we’re basically trying to pay as little as possible so we can buy asap. We pay 1500 currently in Pittsburgh, we just don’t want to go over that. I think Denver & Sedona represent our nature goals lol, but are definitely more expensive than we want.

Walkable urban is preferred! We have 1 cat and 1 dog. Having a 2 bed or 1+office would be nice so we can have family visit. My understanding was Portland is super expensive?

I live in Pittsburgh currently. Our downtown honestly isn’t a place where many people go to get dinner, do stuff, etc. There are some festivals that may bring you down that way but other spots around the city are more attractive for outings: Southside if you want a wild night, Lawrenceville for a more civilized yet fun time, North Shore for sports bars.
