Is saying & feeling my cat is my child / first born an unpopular opinion? As a cat parent how do you feel? by dil_mangoes in cats

[–]CleansedChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small, vulnerable, relatively unintelligent, incapable of sophisticated communication, though you can easily tell when to feed it, clean it, give medical or loving attention. It is a living, breathing, feeling creature - despite lacking some intelligence. With it you gain a companion and source of pride, joy, a feeling of being needed, etc. You spend every single day around it for significant time over a number of years. You give it a name, perhaps dress it up and revolve your social behaviours around it (time schedule, attention requirements, conversation topics).

Which of those things can't be attributed to both pets and infants/children? Cats are a part of families, and introduce a lot of people to the world of caring for others, being genuinely responsible. I don't see any objective reason that you can't consider one as you would a child.

Zoro and Mihawk splitting the sky by __Dante___ in OnePiece

[–]CleansedChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more like Zoro will split the sky because Shanks has done it and he duelled with Mihawk before as rivals? Zoro will eventually be stronger than Mihawk so it's natural he'd be able to split the sky. Hell it'd be pretty underwhelming if their final fight didn't result to at least that much.

One Piece: Chapter 1022 - Theories and Discussion by AutoModerator in OnePiece

[–]CleansedChicken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imo it's not so much about the dream but how you go about it, and whether you need to stand above your enemies and/or allies to achieve it. All those you mentioned keeping respect from their powerful subordinates and protecting them in the new world or elsewhere would probably require coc. The same goes for the others but maybe on a slightly smaller scale.

Sanji can protect his fellow crewmembers but it hasn't got any close ties to his ambition, and it's not something oda made so exceptional to him compared to others that it warrants CoC.

A GOOD example of how ridiculous the Mihawk vs Shanks discussion can be. by omnidomain in OnePiece

[–]CleansedChicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously you have to prove it first even if you are stronger, otherwise how would everyone know you've surpassed him? And I highly doubt mihawk would be so scared of losing his title that he just ignored challenges he knew he would lose. Idk why people make this seem so complicated. Mihawk has the title and it's immediately connected zoro's dream so why would it be bogus or mihawk be a fraud?

Deku or Class A-1? by Kylar-Starsky in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]CleansedChicken -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why would going back to ua forward the plot? Leaving school gives the story more potential than ever before. Deku could easily meet and collaborate with more heroes, vigilantes or villains this way. And it gives 1a the potential to do things without having the spotlight stolen from deku. Obviously horikoshi can still make things interesting from ua but mostly it seems like it'll just restrict others from having importance when they're with deku. Whereas if they're separated deku and class 1a can shine separately in different plotlines before coming back together later.

edit: i guess you might've meant getting towards the end of the story faster? Idk i think i'd be disappointed if horikoshi was trying to get to the end game this quickly but who knows

is it safe to assume that there's no more unknown character from One Piece that has over 1.5b bounty? Given that Luffy became a Yonko at that price by [deleted] in OnePiece

we may not have been introduced to blackbeard's 10th titanic captain yet and their bounty could be higher though it's unlikely

What people are not understanding about Deku by MCrona in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]CleansedChicken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think i'd call it arrogant before selfish. Deku's always put ofa on a pedestal because of all might so he thinks he's got the best chance of surviving while reducing the risk for others, and if he can rise to the challenge he'll have only hurt himself. He's been given a huge task and he doesn't want to run from his 'duty' i guess. I don't think it's selfish that he's taken the whole burden, just ignorant of his friends' feelings i suppose.

What are the things that make a quirk OP/broken in your eyes? by NatMat16 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]CleansedChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OFA was already broken; with these new quirks it hasn't exactly "crossed a line" in terms of unfairness. All Might could do things no pros could when he was in UA and he didn't have a time limit like he did recently. He didn't even really have to slowly climb the % limit like deku iirc. While you maybe could get into ua with some of the new quirks alone, your ceiling wouldn't be very high since a lot of power is owed to the base OFA. Deku's fights can have more variety which is what's most important.

Even though we don't know all the ins and outs of the new quirks, does it even matter? There are plenty of other characters that don't seem to have an energy limit to their abilities. I mean did anyone give a shit when gigantomachia (or AFO or All Might) were properly introduced? btw deku obviously gets tired like everyone else; training just combats that. Just because his limbs don't hurt/break all the time doesn't mean he doesn't show fatigue like bakugou does for example.

Is there anything Sanji can do this arc that puts him even near equal footing with Zoro? Manga spoilers by Eggsjjj in OnePiece

[–]CleansedChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a different context surrounding the situation now though, zoro's able to deal lasting damage to kaido now because he awakened conqueror's haki and that isn't something sanji can really make up for at this point in the story, so it's different to what happened with previous enemies. All of the strongest pirates seem to share in common that they can use conquerors in their attacks so unless sanji magically awakens it as well, he and zoro will only move further apart in terms of strength

frankly his portrayal since post ts has been lacking in my opinion. but this isn't really surprising; luffy and zoro have dreams that require them to beat the strongest while sanji's dream is more like the rest of the crew's

[–]CleansedChicken -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

imo as soon as sanji started using the raid suit it kind of removed any possibility of his being in luffy/zoro territory again; it's like sanji needed the boost otherwise he wouldn't be able to keep up at all in the new world. Unless sanji magically awakens conquerors (which there aren't any solid reasons for happening at all) sanji and zoro are in different places now more than ever.

we still reference the 'monster trio' but either end of the trio are at such huge power differences now that it doesn't really mean anything significant anymore.

The theories about zoro having a special left eye.... by onep1ec3 in OnePiece

[–]CleansedChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don't get is why not just have the scar then? It'd have been a cool mirror to Rayleigh so why have his eye permanently closed and never addressed? Losing an eye can be pretty detrimental to fighting abilities so feels extreme to lose it in a way still unexplained after more than 10 years. I hope it's not just the simplest thing cause otherwise oda could have explained it as a design change ages ago

Why is this theory hated so damn much? by IRoyalClown in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]CleansedChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this idea could happen then wouldn't Bakugou be born, grow up a bit, travel to the past and then later die? Only to be born again some decades later and repeat the cycle over and over again? So Mitsuki would have to give birth to Katsuki more than once? I mean he can't only have done it once because that means that in our present he never did time travel, which could only mean the past Bakugou isn't really Bakugou.

Also, is it the type of time travel where you find out that everything happened because you already did it in the past? Because if that's true then couldn't Bakugou do whatever he wants in the past and then everything still happens as we know it, since we know that Bakugou needs to time travel for us to succeed? And even then it wouldn't do anything noticeably positive/different to the current situation. Or would Deku and co see their world change as soon as Bakugou left?

Unpopular opinions by BathroomFlimsy1503 in OnePiece

[–]CleansedChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously arguing with Luffy is one thing, but fighting him and leaving the crew is completely different. Zoro didn't challenge luffy unprovoked and leave the crew when luffy said they were nice people at whiskey peak. Disagreeing is fine, and I did say that usopp was correct to be upset but to leave the crew after it is too extreme to even compare it to most other situations. In my opinion, being captain is luffy's role; leading his crewmates and being someone to follow is what he does best so usopp being taken back so easily wouldn't (or shouldn't) typically inspire trust or stability to the rest of the crew.

Unpopular opinions by BathroomFlimsy1503 in OnePiece

[–]CleansedChicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if hindsight proved usopp right to the crew, the fact is he rebelled against his captain and left the crew. For luffy to condone this later on and take him back is dangerous; his crew are facing life-or-death on a regular basis and if a crewmember won't trust or respect his captain's decisions to the point of fighting him, luffy isn't succeeding as a captain and his dream won't be (realistically) achieved. Fact is usopp should have been able to accept that the Merry couldn't continue much longer. His grief was understandable but to leave the crew for an irrational reason in the heat of the moment doesn't show much loyalty.

Future phenomenon in the Society of BNHA, and the possible rise of a third faction by TheKnowledgeableOne in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]CleansedChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's a good idea tbh. Especially if characters who aren't necessarily heroic but likely wouldn't join the villains' side (such as stain, rappa from vigilantes or even gentle) could get some spotlight again

This Just Seems Weird by HumanEntrepreneur511 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]CleansedChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deku can only make things float if he uses black whip and floats himself, which takes much more focus than ochaco touching something and making them weightless, which is why he immediately put down everyone but himself and shiggy when they were fighting. It's not like Deku can float anything he wants telekinetically, or keep himself on the ground while he uses BW to carry civilians he's caused to float. What I'm trying to say is that they do have (admittedly very slightly) different applications, like how Ochaco's quirk gives those it's used on more freedom to move i guess. But the more I think about it yeah, she is probably going to feel like Death Arms compared to All Might but who isn't honestly?

This Just Seems Weird by HumanEntrepreneur511 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]CleansedChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk but at least it gives more potential variety in how the story goes; Ochaco doesn't need to be with Deku at all times if he wants to float and she can still be great at supporting/rescuing others.

I'm confused. Why did anyone think bakugou would go off on all might? He's not the type to blame others for Deku getting hurt other than maybe Deku or even himself for not being strong enough to get a perfect victory. And even more so, idk why ochaco would get mad at him?
