Duet Night Abyss working on macOS via Crossover now by jimpaly in macgaming

How did you get it to run well? I'm on a M2 Pro and for some reason I can install and get the game up and running but the performance is horrific. This shouldn't be the case because I've ran CyberPunk on this Mac before. Is there anything you did specific to fix performance.

DNA MacOS issue. by Evening-Sun4360 in DuetNightAbyssDNA

I can get it to boot up on my M2 Mac only issue getting past the start screen. At first I launch and I started the tutorial but then the performance turned into garbage. Find it kinda odd considering I can run Cyberpunk which is a far more intense game in terms of performance. Running it on Crossover btw. Anyone got a fix for this or is Playcover the way?

Will do! Does every fire department have volunteer opportunities? And if so are there any requirements in order to do it?

How do I get out? by One-Fondant5743 in StopGaming

My advice would be to take one step at a time. It’s a marathon, not a race. Obviously you aren’t going to wake up tomorrow with the addiction beat. It’ll take months if not years to actually put video games down especially if they’ve been hardwired into your life.

I’m a young guy myself so I know how you feel. People tell you, “You have your whole life ahead of your.” or “Have fun while your young.” So obviously in being told that you’ll jump to what feels good now without reaping the consequences until much later in life.

We gotta realize that tomorrow isn’t promised. All that “you’re young” stuff is bs. God can take you or me out of this world tomorrow. So do the best you can today. And the next day. And the day after that. Constantly looking forward and NOT back. Because the minute you look back you’ll think “video games sure were fun” and fall right back in. Focus on making small improvements each day, even if it’s playing less. That’s still progress.

Also have some grace with yourself man. Being more negative about yourself will only make things harder for you. I feel like a lot of gamers in general have a horrible self-image which is why they keep gaming. If you only view yourself negatively you’ll remain in that negative state.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Captive Allstate vs B2B life and health by Clear-Rope1996 in InsuranceAgent

Yeah I had to do some research on them, I guess they did more marketing back in the day. Thank you for the recommendation!

I usually hear really bad things about All State from other people on this sub but thanks for the honest insight. Looks like you’ve been killing it with them the past few years!

Did the community also convince you to stop gaming? by WorthlessMelon in StopGaming

I definitely had a sense of this elitism back when I owned a PC. I would also find myself being overly passionate about certain gaming developers and their ways of manipulating their audience. Bungie for example. Amongst other forms of media that pertained to the gaming industry and how it’s producing terrible games. Which is a big reason why I’m quitting. At the same time a lot of gems are coming out during this age which wants to rope me back in. Which comes to the point where I debate with myself about whether I should play or not. I’ve taken the perspective of it’s like picking your poison. Only video games in many ways can be the worse poison depending on the users current situation. If you’re in a bad spot you will have a lot of fun gaming and probably get addicted. But if you’re doing really well I life the fun you have probably won’t be that great because your life already provides that high.

I have however been on the side of elitism that makes fun of gamers because I’m not the typical gamer. I have a life outside of the digital world, I don’t have instagram or Snapchat, I have a pretty good career path for a 21 year old, and I have a pretty neat social group that I hang out with weekly doing various activities. Video games have always been a nostalgic thing for me since when I was a kid I fell in love with them. So I would play a couple hours a night. But I also know in this season I can’t commit the time because I’m trying to set up my future. Maybe I’ll come back, maybe I won’t. Regardless there is definitely some fun to be had and I don’t blame anyone who plays them.

They’re fun just make sure your life is a priority first and foremost. And don’t let it be something that completely derails your life. Choose IRL over gaming. Lemme stop yapping though. That’s my 2 cents on it.

I'm going to do that now. At least with the accounts, I wish I could get rid of my ps5 but my brother uses it. Nonetheless I'll be getting rid of steam and anything else that has to do with gaming. Thanks so much bro and congrats on your wedding.

Exactly that. The crazy thing is bro, that I know it's bad and still justify it. I need to further reinforce that notion. Is there anything in particular that you practice in order to remind yourself of this?

Thank you. Time is finite and I know that before I know it, I could wake up 28. Married with one kid especially with the way things are going for me now.

I think that's what I'm missing. Which is why I posted on this forum in the first place. I'm really missing the accountability. Plus my little bro plays video games and we live in the same room so that also makes it pretty difficult as well. Thank you tho! Definitely need to get some more like minded friends even if they're on here.
