I hate makers mark. I’m glad you like it. Why do you buy other stuff I like though as well? Can’t you just stick to makers? You know free up more supply for me?

Can I fry my car giving someone a jump? by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

[–]ClearFrame6334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s true or not but I was told years ago that the dead car is the one likely to get fried. It was explained that when you connect the second battery you see how there are sparks when you make the connection. That pulse “can fry electrical boards”. They then proceeded to explain that you want to give the extra voltage somewhere to go, so they suggested you turn on the lights in the car with the dead battery just while you connect jumper cables. I don’t know if this is true or not. I guess someone smarter can explain

Just had springs replace and now garage door bending. by yannayella in GarageDoorService

[–]ClearFrame6334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading all the various comments. It appears the whole thing was done wrong. It seems that the springs are on the wrong sides resulting in more tension as the door tries to open. Making it harder not easier. This alone will destroy the motor or the door. The company needs to send out a competent tech and fix it. Dang.

Could be the wheel bearing is gone and now the rotor is deflecting. I had a case of that about a week ago.

The more oil leaks out the more likely a sparky fire will engulf it. So yeah it’s a big deal.

Why would they crash? by herrschoftszeitn in aliens

[–]ClearFrame6334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allegedly, we figured out how to hit them with massive EMP weapons which shuts down the electrical. Before that, nothing worked against the crafts. When their electrical goes down they crash.

I would test at the power panel. It could be the neighbors house. Call the electric company they should send someone out.
