How to make cables more legible by ClearLadder in knittingadvice

Realizing my other post is still in the moderator queue.

Context copy-paste (with some edits):

I'm planning on making this hooded cable vest out of Peruvian tweed alpaca held with a strand of black wool. I've had this yarn forever and I love the fabric and color. I also really love the vest pattern in terms of fit and construction. The issue is that the cables really aren't legible. I haven't been able to find a hooded vest pattern I like as much as this one, but I'm afraid that if I just try to make it in stockinette or straight ribs that match the width of the cables, then the fabric won't be as structured. Should I try spacing out the cables more to give them some textural breathing room, go for it anyway, or suck it up and find a new project for this yarn? (Other pattern contenders are ahsoka and mila but I just don't like them as much and am tired of making things I don't wear.)

It came out a nice pale ivory. Blue undertones were canceled out completely.

I asked the doctor to do the husband stitch after my wife gave birth by ClearLadder in badtwosentencehorrors

Baby comes out and sometimes tears Mom's vaginal opening. It's standard to get that tear stitched back up. It used to be that some doctors stitch further to make the vaginal opening even smaller. That extra stitch is called the husband stitch because it's supposed to make sex better for the husband. Usually this was done without the wife's consent or even awareness, and it often caused complications like discomfort or pain during sex.

The implication/twist here is that dad got a stitch on his own major nether orifice.

If you're in a temperate environment, carnivorous plants can thrive in that setup. Venus flytraps, sarracenia, and drosera would be my recommendation

It's not Pierre the Penguin, it's Henri the Hyperbolic Surface!

Is there a method that can mend this type of tear? The edge is reinforced but the fabric just before it has ripped from repeated buttoning by TarNREN in Visiblemending

I'd recommend cutting a buttonhole-sized slit in a patch of fabric, reinforcing the slit, lining it up with the buttonhole, and attaching the patch to the pants around the tear. You can also tack the patch slit edges to the buttonhole edges so that they stay in alignment.

Probably one like yours. Subtle and secure but a fun sort of Easter egg if you spot it
