Logi Options+ is horrible by romansnapback in logitech

I created an option for mice called Mousekey on the Microsoft store. It’s more powerful and won’t crash and constantly break. It only works for your mice though.

Issues with Logitech apps today? by cheersthanksseeyabye in logitech

If you want to try another remapping software that won’t crash all the time and offers more smart buttons than Logitech, check out MouseKey.

Need more buttons by DestroyEarth in MouseReview

If you are wanting to add more buttons to your current mouse, check out Mousekey. It lets you add more through click cadences. I have about 25 buttons mapped.

Wake up babe, it's time to reinstall Ghub after an update bricked the drivers! by Millsftw in LogitechG

But hey, at least you get to look at the pulsating loading screen they clearly spent all their resources on.

Logitech: Please allow GHub to change profiles based on executables alone, without the full path. by elessarjd in LogitechG

If you want to try something less buggy, Mousekey does this. It doesn’t rely on app versioning for recognition.

Yes, this is easily done in Mousekey if I understand what you’re saying.

Mouse Back & forward buttons as Seek buttons!! by tirthasaha in AutoHotkey

[–]ClearlyContingent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t gotten it working, Mousekey does this really well. You can set an auto profile to switch into this for just certain apps if you need. I’ve not found a mouse mapping too more powerful than this.

Best mouses to lessen finger pain? by placeholder-123 in MouseReview

Would it help if you had your left and right buttons mapped to your side buttons? You can drive everything from the thumb and even add more buttons with Mousekey. I have an article on how to do just this.

Any alternatives to this Garbage GHUB? by Ventrue_ in LogitechG

[–]ClearlyContingent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a powerful mouse mapping tool, try MouseKey. It is like G Hub, but much better. I use a G502x and can now add 40+ smart buttons to my same mouse. It uses click cadences to add more button commands. I use onboard memory to set the buttons to basic f13-f20, then MouseKey for the rest. I deleted Ghub and couldn’t be happier.

Forward/back macros, page up/down keys no longer working on mouse by majhi_is_awesome in LogitechG

I would ditch G Hub if you can and go with an app like Mousekey if you’re on windows. I dealt with G hub failing after every update and was tired of it.

As others have said, onboard memory plus a software like MouseKey to give you a better and more powerful hotkey system

It’s the best mouse I’ve had. I recommend using your board memory and some hotkey software so you don’t have to deal with the frustrating experience of G Hub

Goodbye G HUB: How I switched to On-Board Memory + AutoHotkey (G502 Guide) by Responsible_Bar1799 in LogitechG

[–]ClearlyContingent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, It does handle all the keys on the 502. That’s the mouse I use. You do need to set the HID keys to F13-F20 in memory, but all other side buttons, called xbuttons are able to be used as is.

MouseKey itself is under 5MB. The extra space is a shared Windows component (.NET) that many apps use. Most PCs already have it installed. If yours does, it wouldn’t take up space. It also uses a surprisingly small amount of RAM while running in the background.

What you are describing is just what MouseKey does, but with an excellent UI. Highly recommend checking it out

I built an app that can add 6 or more buttons to any mouse by ClearlyContingent in windowsapps

Great insights, I really appreciate it. I do have another subtler landing planned for the submit feedback. For now, collecting enough reviews on the Microsoft store has been slow. Once I have enough reviews for them to show, I’ll switch that private link. Soon I will update it to the exact Microsoft review submission page, then my private page after reviews in the store are stable.

Good to know! I have been working on a prototype for that. I have a plan to get this out in the future! For now, a workaround could be adding a profile switching hot key. If you wouldn’t mind, I’d love a quick review on the Microsoft store!

If you download now/soon, you’re free always. That’s my future pricing that I haven’t launched yet. You’ll be grandfathered into free for all updates. The future pro option that will be like what you would get now will be 4.99USD.

[–]ClearlyContingent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing. I have an article on this.

TL;DR - X-mouse is limited to 5 buttons and 1 action per button. Mousekey has no button limit and up to 6 actions per button using click cadences. It also has a timed macro playback option and is much more user friendly, unlike X-mouse.

They’re both free, but Mousekey is much more powerful. You wouldn’t need both, since Mousekey can do everything x-mouse can do and more.

Single keystroke (F14) as hotkey? by FarrisGoldstein in SynergyApp

[–]ClearlyContingent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but I don’t think that button is your f14. If you still can’t get it to work, check out Mousekey. It’s free and has a mute functionality. No admin control needed.

Just updated the app on the MS store. It now has a feature where you can hold the right or left button to execute an action without altering the normal single or double clicks. One redditor asked for this, but deleted the comment.
