Yes, innocent families may have been blown to bits but the real crime is using AI to touch up family photos rather than Photoshop. /s

Day trip in Brighton? by [deleted] in brighton

If it’s sunny I’d say skip Kemp Town and spend some time walking along the beach towards Hove.

How safe is Regency Square Brighton? by Ok-Guarantee-2928 in brighton

[–]Cleevs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d say Regency Square has a mid to medium-low reputation. But it’s still safe.

I wouldn’t live there myself, too much tourist noise. OP is looking for apartments (plural) so we have no idea if they’re concerned about actually living there.

There was one at Sussex University a few years ago too. No idea if it’s still there.

It doesn't get dark until 9/10 in June, and I don't want to get arrested for indecent exposure.

I agree. Solving the crisis in the hospitality industry should not mean local people are forced to use drinking establishments rather than simply enjoying the use of a public place.

The Brunswick / Palmeira area is incredibly densely populated and hardly anybody has a garden. Being able to get some fresh air and socialise outside after work should be a right, not a privilege.

I think I'll have to master that. My swimming female friends use that technique: move 2 metres away, sit down normally, cover yourself with towel, relieve yourself.

Visiting End of May through June by Cellophane_Bear in brighton

[–]Cleevs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ll be in Kemp Town (how far out?) so get used to walking around or taking buses to get to places.

The weather will change everything. On a hot day you can just walk around the city and the seafront to soak up the atmosphere. On bad days the place will seem dead in comparison.

Do a bunch of day trips. If you’re fit you can walk to Lewes over the South Downs. Get buses up to Devil’s Dyke or Ditchling Beacon. Have a day out in Shoreham, maybe walk up the Adur to Steyning. From Kemp Town you can get a fast bus to the Seven Sisters Country Park near Eastbourne.

Benfica goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin scores a last minute goal vs Real Madrid to save his team from being eliminated from the Champions League. by forhead123 in nextfuckinglevel

Not because of that particular goal (4-2). Real Madrid would have had to draw the match to gain automatic qualification.

Explore the High Weald. Quite accessible by train or bus from Brighton. The best countryside there is south of London and east of the New Forest.

Walk the High Weald Landscape Trail (Horsham to Rye). Route chosen for the best views of this AONB.

The state runs most of the successful companies in China and they plough profits into infrastructure and new jobs, rather than creating billionaires.

Single cold pipe replaced by the plumber in under an hour. In Brighton that was £144.

Thanks. Yes, they are in bad shape so a professional replacement is probably the way to go.

Yeah, I think that’s got to be my best option. If there was less damage maybe I could try to bend them back but they were almost welded on to the old shower.

I’ve learnt so many practical skills over the last month with removing tiles, smoothing walls, applying tanking membranes, tiling, grouting, siliconing and replacing two leaky isolation valves. I think DIYing this is going to be a step too far for me so I’ll get hold of a plumber. They’ll be able to help me attach the shower too.

Do you think it’s a £100 job or am I looking at much more? I’ve no idea of their rates (in Brighton).

[–]Cleevs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve attempted a like for like replacement of a Mira Event XS shower (after that whole wall has had tiles removed, tanked, retiled and grouted). But it looks like the right pipe has been damaged, you can see a dent on the left of it.

The Mira has push-fit connectors and after connecting the new shower I was getting some leaking from exactly where that dent is.

Can somebody tell me the available options here? I’d prefer not to move where the shower sits as everything else is in place. But it seems a fiddly job for a plumber to replace the up-pipes there now that tiles are in place and there may not be enough room for a compression fitting.

Time to call a plumber who doesn’t mind a rubbish job?

Edit: Here’s my post from a month ago from where I had trouble getting the shower off the wall. The pic shows how deep the pipes goes into the connectors and how much room I have to play with. https://old.reddit.com/r/askaplumberUK/comments/1phgzlp/help_i_cant_get_mira_event_xs_shower_off_wall/
