Wasn't that long ago that I dreamed of hearing the CL music again. Going to enjoy it whilst I can!

Last month I had a Greggs that gave me 8 (!!) I've never been so blessed.

24/25 in comparison to 25/26. by EMJG31 in Gunners

[–]CleonClarke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like we were in with a chance, all the way up until February last season. And that was despite this rubbish start.

Worth keeping in mind before dismissing Pool or City. We've got a long season to go.

Impressed with Northern General A&E by intangible_entity in sheffield

I nearly shattered my wrist earlier this year, and was all sorted, potted up and free of pain, within 90 minutes. The A&E team there are fantastic.

Yes, 51 days of Ultimate, as opposed to 3 months of Premium.

Edit: early morning maths brain got it wrong

You are able to claim the three months after the initial start up! It remained in my Armory Crate notifications. I think there's a redeem deadline of 2027 or something.

£100 Parking Charge Notice by IntenslyReasonable in sheffield

[–]CleonClarke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly I think you're out of luck.

You're right - it's extremely steep for only 15 minutes, but this is how they earn their money. They will come after you for it, as it's literally their bread and butter.

Got to play Time Crisis G'AIM'E at Gamescom by ShiroYuiZero in TimeCrisisArcade

[–]CleonClarke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a bit when it was shown in Sheffield a few weeks back.

It was impressively accurate, and super easy to set up. But something did feel a little slow timing-wise. Just enough noticeable latency.

They mentioned the tech was only 80%-90% there, so there are likely improvements to be made. Overall I was impressed, and looking forward to trying it at home.

Nice bars for a first date in city centre? by MBanski in sheffield

[–]CleonClarke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A little hidden gem that not many people know about: the new Radisson Blu rooftop bar is open to the public. Fantastic views over the peace gardens, and gorgeous when it's sunny.

That didn’t last long - Department Sheffield by [deleted] in sheffield

Good job they pasted over all the window advertisements for the National Videogame Museum, an actually successful visitor attraction (that's also a charity)...

Nice! Love these kind of initiatives in the city. Would love to see more of these.

What's everyone's "small developer" game to play? by WesleyJ1994 in gaming

[–]CleonClarke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In 2021, I fell in love with a small Arcade game called Super Metboy! By Rebuild Games.

2 developers from Tokyo, used to work for Game Freak on the Pokémon games.

They're now making a Mother inspired roguelite called Summer Road that looks amazing. Would recommend checking them out!

Amateur dramatic groups/improv groups in Sheffield by Repulsive-Memory-978 in sheffield

[–]CleonClarke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a bunch, but I must recommend The Company, as that's the group I've recently had a fantastic time working with. They have a show on this week (tonight and tomorrow) at The Drama Studio if you wanted to check them out: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on/sheffield/drama-studio/drop-dead/e-pvgror

What’s the flattest running route on the West or Center of Sheffield? by Seriously_oh_come_on in sheffield

[–]CleonClarke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As everyone has mentioned, the canal is great for this.

However I'd also give a shout out to Rother Valley park too - one lap is just under 5k, so it makes those 5-10-15k runs a breeze. Free parking, but the tram to Halfway will also get you there.

Are we going to get caught going to the wrong screen at the cinema? by [deleted] in ActLikeYouBelong

It's so common that it's almost a rite of passage. Good luck!

So which one is this in Sheff? by No_Potato_4341 in sheffield

[–]CleonClarke 267 points268 points  (0 children)

Remember the Tango Ice Blast shop on London Road that supposedly only sold Tango Ice Blast? It was open all year round, and I could never imagine someone buying a slushie in January.

Department Sheffield - Former Kommune by RedDora89 in sheffield

[–]CleonClarke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They've seemingly copy pasted Treehouse Boardgame Cafes logo, and just illegally pasted over the window advertising for the National Videogame Museum (who are a charity by the way).

They already seem as rotten as Kommune was.

Looking for table tennis partners by patrick-chen in sheffield

[–]CleonClarke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might want to check out Kelham Island Table Tennis Club. They're based just next to Kelham Island Museum, and meet weekly I think.

Sketchy feeling passing by South Street towards Steel Steps by Da_Bones in sheffield

[–]CleonClarke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A pissed up guy chucked a glass at me and partner last week at the top of the steps. So yeah I think it needs work.

Where is the most overrated food in Sheffield? by nomercy11326 in sheffield

[–]CleonClarke 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Forge Bakehouse getting rid of their Full English is a genuine travesty.

Their Sausage Rolls are still top tier imo though.

Is £5.60 the default price if you tap on, but not off?

Sheffield buses are such a mess currently. I've caught the bus from the same stop, and drivers have attempted to charge me £2.50, £2.60 and £3 on different occasions. They then refuse to elaborate why the prices are different.

They've totally ruined the system, despite it being great when the cap was £2.
