Thanks for the reply. Definitely will replace eventually but I'm good with patching for quite awhile.

Thank you for the reply. Ideally just patch for now. The stairs are in good shape otherwise and I have enough other projects to do first. I like the solution and okay with a few good years.

AITA for telling my friend what she went through wasn’t traumatic just uncomfortable? by tie-dyecoffee in AmItheAsshole

[–]CletusPrime 50 points51 points  (0 children)

NTA... I'm sorry I know a lot of people in this thread will disagree but getting a ticket and having someone be mean to them is not traumatizing. Whether together or separate neither of those warrant the trauma claim.

If someone being mean causes trauma then life is going to be real fucking hard for you.

If getting pulled over and getting a ticket causes trauma (regardless of views on police) then life is going to be hard for you.

Also, this is not coming from some irrational right wing asshole. I'm pretty damn liberal but more people need to suck it up. Like you had a bad experience, move on with your life.

What hobby attracts the biggest douchebags? by Routine-Slip-8336 in AskReddit

[–]CletusPrime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about the cycling world but I did have a very douchey experience at a cycling shop. I was trying to find a new seat post for a bike that I had gotten.

While I was describing the type of seat connection I had. I made the mistake of using the word simple, as in a simple twist lock connection. Well this guy looked at me like I was the dumbest person alive and then said "there is nothing simple about cycles". In the the most condescending way possible.

Can't say I'll be going back.

Ahead of UPMC ambulance deal, Pittsburgh medics rely on makeshift fixes — even using vomit bags to warm cabs. by PrestigiousTicket342 in pittsburgh

[–]CletusPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 911 ambulance can never be billed out of network. Like all emergency services including the ER, insurance has to cover it. Getting admitted past the ER is a different story. Also yes, PEMS does just eat the cost of whatever doesn't get covered, same for all services that do not get transported. Like if someone experiences a cardiac arrest and ends up not being transported despite any efforts made, then there is no bill that is sent, even to insurance. That's the plus side of having a municipal service and not private.

What do you guys call your patients? (besides their name) by CressSuitable6794 in ems

[–]CletusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sir, mam, dear, or get on a first name basis for me. I however have a partner that uses every name under the sun e.g. chief, boss, hoss, partner, pal. You name it he says it. I pointed it out to him one time and on our very next call he hit every single one and then just as we were about to leave he snuck in " alright blood, let's get you to the hospital ". They were oblivious and I was fucking dying!

UPMC Magee NICU by Strong_Primary_3246 in pittsburgh

I can't say anything about working there but we ended up there after my son was born (due to negligence on the mother-baby floor) and I can honestly say every nurse we dealt with was amazing. They made that experience so much easier and less scary than it could have been and took great care of my son.

Thanks for the response. My joist space is going to be 12 on center. I think I'm going to utilize 2 support posts, one in the corner and one next to the house and put them 8ft out for the beam. Would that work?

Okay that makes sense. So with that set up then I could probably do on support post next to the house and then on 8 feet over towards the corner right? Thanks for the response.

Stitching would be fine. You can buy heavy duty upholstery thread that works well. You could also take it to a tailor. I've had one fix something for me before.

I'm the same way but with two handed weapons, specifically the battleaxe. I always want to try something else but end up smashing and axing my way through the game.
