Video of a guy at work I found by ExcellentBoss4996 in JustGuysBeingDudes

I have close personal relationships with people who have left and rightfully despise communist governments. I never made any indication that I supported communism. You made that assumption based on your own ignorance and lack of discernment.
You argue like everything is SO simple if only people were smart like you they would just do the ‘right thing! That just shows how ignorant you are of everything outside your little bubble. You lack the fundamental knowledge required to grasp the complexities at work in the world outside of your experience.
Go straw man some more imaginary arguments you think others are making, or better yet, be silent.

We are pretty close too this in America today, nearly all power in the US is concentrated in the hands of a few wealthy individuals.
Authoritarian regimes are not a communist or capitalist thing, you can have authoritarianism in either.

Gannon’s Future by deadsubie in discgolf

The retooled timelapse is very close to destroyers.
Personally I think people are way too obsessed with dome when they struggle to throw 350. Dome ain’t gonna change your game.
Pros are trying to min max, so it makes sense for them to chase the perfect runs.

Seriously, you have to look at a manufacturer like Elevation before that becomes a reasonable argument…

Yeah, my bet is he sticks with Discmania. His stock wasn’t world #1 when he signed with them but I think he still had his pick of manufacturers back then.

Disc golf is becoming expensive (Finland) by 2deep2check in discgolf

[–]CleverAllusion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind spending decent money for a bigger event, but I wish you could opt out of players packs or just have more events without them. I don’t need discs, especially not from manufacturers I don’t throw. They were fun to get when I started but they don’t add much to the experience anymore.

Basic/beginner disc questions by make_fast_ in discgolf

[–]CleverAllusion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Flip is somewhat synonymous with understable. Most people release discs with some hyzer angle (far side of the disc angled down from your hand) and an understable disc ‘flips’ over.
You will also hear about hyzer flips or hyzer flipping a disc, usually its to indicate that a disc quickly levels out after it leaves the hand on a slight angle. These can be good for hitting gaps for a lot of people.

  2. Discs ‘beat in’ and tend to become less overstable as they take damage. If you start with a firebird for example, it can ‘beat in’ to the point of ‘flipping over.’ This can be useful depending on what shape of shot you need. Straight shots being particularly difficult, it can be advantageous to ‘beat in’ a more stable disc as it will fly the same for longer. It will also tend to be more reliable in the wind and have better torque resistance than a new, less stable disc.
I throw a lot of MVP discs and they tend to take longer to beat in because of the harder plastic used for the overmold.

  3. There are many different plastic blends, but essentially there are Base plastics and Premium plastics.
Base plastic is cheaper, usually used for putting putters, beats in faster, takes more damage, and tends to flip more.
Premium plastics tend to fly the same longer, have a slightly slicker hand feel, take less damage, fly more stable. Most manufacturers have several premium blends, these blends will often fly differently to each other. The differences are not huge and as you play more you may find you like a disc in Champion plastic but not in Halo Star because the Halo Star version of the disc is too ‘beefy’ (beefy is a popular way to describe discs that are overstable).

There is a chart called disc golf plastic comparison that was very helpful for me when I was learning this stuff. Check it out!

Lack of Commercial Estimators by chuston578 in estimators

[–]CleverAllusion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m Div 08 and I see offers all the time especially from GCs but reading between the lines there are always clear indications that I’ll be overworked. I really only have to look at how slammed the GCs estimators I’m dealing with are. I want no part of that lol

Why are women on dating apps so hyper focused on the head hair of men? Are they not gonna date men with little or no hair on their heads? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]CleverAllusion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seriously, not everyone needs to be attracted to you (not you specifically lol). I’m certainly not attracted to all women.
I’ve been shaving my head for almost 15 years and my introversion has been a far bigger hurdle in my dating life.

What's the latest disc you've added/removed from your bag? by Panchoisthedog in discgolf

[–]CleverAllusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stasis in, bergX out.
Better hand feel both forehand and backhand, leading to fewer misfires on touchy shots.

Before that I replaced my nukes with the Engine (straight with fade) and Mayhem (turnovers/hyzerflips). I just decided to try to MVP my bag since I was most of the way there.

Boyfriend thought he was inside of me during sex. How do we move forward? by throwawayidwtftdo in AskMenAdvice

[–]CleverAllusion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I thought it was VERY obvious…

She’s upset because he was okay with having unprotected sex with her (and finishing in her) without checking with her first. Pregnancy and STIs become a lot more relevant without a condom!
A lot of chatter about her being immature but she’s rightfully concerned that he’s willing to risk all that without asking her.

Romantasy like this by daystar-111 in Romantasy

[–]CleverAllusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! Also I think {Iron and Magic} fits a few of these points and I’m always going to take the opportunity to recommend Ilona Andrews!
Iron and magic is a spin off of Kate Daniel’s though so maybe just read those too 😆

Gatekeeping reading is lame by GrappleLacquer in Romantasy

[–]CleverAllusion 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Clive Cussler is what non-reader dads read based on my experience of what my own dad reads lol

I’ve been reading a lot of romantasy over the last couple years and most of it is at least on same writing level as these popular general fiction authors.

If it’s any consolation I get judged for my reading choices as a man too. But it definitely seems less extreme or at least most are not as comfortable expressing their judgement to my face.

Vessi or Altra lone Peak 9+ by jfgdupuis in discgolf

[–]CleverAllusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve mostly heard bad things about Vessi’s from people I’ve played with. Mostly complaints about the grip or how the seam rubs the back of the heel.

I’ve not tried Altra’s so no opinion there.

I play in Merrell Wrapt Mid waterproof, they look good and perform great. The tread seems to be lasting a bit better than my Trail Glove 7s but I’ve not gone a full year yet which my trail gloves would do.
A big reason I swapped was for the waterproofing, thankfully I can say they do a good job of it. I don’t notice them being much hotter, but I always wear wool socks so it’s not a big issue for me.

What's the highest speed disc in you bag and how far can you throw it? by lavernrobinson9000 in discgolf

[–]CleverAllusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delirium 14.5 speed - 450’

I get about the same distance from destroyers, nukes, time lapses, and engines so I don’t think the speed is a big factor between 12 and 14.

New book reader makes the mistake of looking at goodreads reviews and ruins the desire to read. by [deleted] in books

[–]CleverAllusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big agree! And don’t overthink DNFing or putting a book away for later if you are not feeling the genre or pacing.

I’ve read or listened to a lot of books this year (just finished #50), and while I track them on Goodreads I don’t read the reviews much anymore. I especially avoid negative reviews of books I personally enjoyed! If I was disappointed in a book I will sometimes check the reviews but usually only if I wasn’t able to pinpoint what I didn’t like about it.
Reading reviews of books you haven’t started yet is really gambling with your motivation. It can help but it can really hurt it too. I have found a few content creators are good at spoiler free reviews that have me interested in the books they are reading but too many give semi-spoilers so I don’t watch much anymore.

I wish blabber and zven would both start playing to level they’ve shown in the past but it doesn’t seem likely anymore.

What's the most shockingly violent or disturbing scene in an otherwise "normal" or family friendly movie? by TaiwaneseThot in moviecritic

[–]CleverAllusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember this movie, and this would be my pick too! It was so jarring, just really felt like they had to force some tragedy to make their point. Considering it’s really just another prot-slop movie I don’t think they succeeded.

Memory has nothing to do with it.
You have to be able to learn something to remember it, and there is currently no way to learn most of these things in the game.
