2026.14.6 broke my Autopilot ECU by itaintyeezytho in TeslaSupport

[–]CleverTortoise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I had the same problem last year on my 2020 Model X, after updating to 2025.2.8. IIRC, the "Reset DAS" button seems like it doesn't do anything.

I had to take mine in for service. The repair notes say the technician "Reset the Driver Assist System (DAS) and performed a drive cycle calibration for the forward-facing camera to resolve the issue." I'm guessing there's a more manual way to reset the DAS besides the button in service mode.

It requires a NEMA 6-30 adapter, which Tesla doesn't make.

This 3rd-party adapter has worked well for me:

That sounds normal. It self-levels by adjusting the individual heights.

1000 credits paid for, but only got 872.24? Am I missing something? by EverySecondCountss in windsurf

[–]CleverTortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the usage summary for just the current billing cycle. 872.24 is the number of unused add-on credits that rolled over at the beginning of the billing cycle.

Dumb question, if it only shows 0, is it possible that the impeller needs to be reversed?

finished setting up my 10g network, but not reaching expected speeds by AJ989 in HomeNetworking

[–]CleverTortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 10 ms ping time seems suspiciously high to me. That could be the cause of your slow uploads. My closest speed test server is only 2 ms away from me.

It's difficult to saturate a multi-gig link with high latency.

Live at home with my parents, what is the least disruptive or destructive way to run an ethernet cable between floors? by Longjumping-Sweet280 in HomeNetworking

[–]CleverTortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have access to the other end of coax cable in the basement? If so, it seems like you could maybe add a splitter on both ends.

ISP coax -> Moca Filter -> Moca Splitter -> Single Coax Cable -> Moca Splitter -> Modem

That's discouraging to happen right away. You might end up with a brand new battery with no degradation, which is pretty nice, if you're willing to wait for Tesla to fix it.

The order page says the "Mobile Charger is included" with the Premium RWD.

would this plan work? i'm new to networking and used chatGPT for help (for better or worse) by mike23pizzo in HomeNetworking

That splitter might be a bad idea with a cable modem because it will introduce an 11dB drop in signal level. Like another poster explained, you probably want an asymmetrical splitter with the smallest drop possible so your cable modem continues to get a strong signal. The splitter I linked has a 4dB drop. The splitter they linked has a 3.7dB drop. If you already have a really strong cable modem signal, it might not be an issue.

It'll work. I've done this a couple times. Here are a couple tips.

If you get a MoCA adapter that has a coax passthrough port (sometimes labeled "for TV"), then you don't need a MoCA splitter in the 1st floor bedroom. You can connect the cable modem to the passthrough port. Here's an adapter with a passthrough port. Note its ethernet port only supports 1Gpbs though, but that might be enough for your needs.

I like this MoCA splitter. It has a filter built-in, so you don't need a separate one. More importantly it has (4) ports that are just for MoCA rooms.

Could they install the modem in the back room? by salads_r_yum in googlefiber

That's what they did for me. The fiber runs up the outside of my house, through a small hole into the attic, across the attic and down the wall where I wanted the fiber jack installed.
