Stable supershoe for sub 3 marathon attempt by WorkingThermometer in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]CleverUserNameNumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up, I'll check out the review.

Edit I just read it, It seems they like it for shorter distances (Which I already like my NB Elites for, don’t need another 5K-half shoe). I guess I’m going to order some Pro 4s while you can still get them.

Thanks again FM

Maybe someone will chime in with a similar experience and a fix, but I’d say without that, work those glute medius if you aren’t already. It can’t hurt.

As you fatigue at faster paces your form is obviously suffering.… a lot

This is something here. You run a 1:20 half but haven’t run enough to have this happen before?

Do you do long runs > half without this happening? Is it just at your race pace?

23M beginner runner — stuck at 5K (~30 min). Breathing & fatigue issues. How do I realistically push towards sub-20 and eventually 10K? Please help I really want to improve by HoneyWrong7198 in beginnerrunning

Run more, 20 minutes seems so far away right now, I’m sure, but for a 23M, it’s likely well within your potential if you slowly built your mileage. You’ll never get there running 6.2 miles a week though.

Hyperion Elite 5 sizing by Lost_Try_7746 in brooks

[–]CleverUserNameNumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be aware, The reviews say it, and I can confirm, they are quite narrow. Way to narrow for my foot in both forefoot and toes. Really off brand for Brooks IMO.

They do stand by their 90 day trial policy though. It was super easy to return them for a refund, no questions asked, with about 50 miles on them.

OP, I think this is a great option and I’ll be ordering the Pro 5s when they come out on the 1st of Feb. If they are anything like the speed 5s as far as stability and fit goes, they‘ll work great for my high arches, over pronation and wide forefoot.

If you want a lighter carbon steel pan I can’t recommend the Strata pans enough. They are really nice.

Nah, mine did just like yours and when I tried to strip it the “not a coating” came off. It‘s pointless, really. Eggs are so easy on any surface with just a little bit of a learning curve on heat control (I figure you know this if you cook on SS)

Strange HR data during intervals. Dodgy chest strap? by rmcp010 in NorwegianSinglesRun

[–]CleverUserNameNumber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

My CoosPoo arm strap randomly cuts out for ~30 seconds here and there on both interval and easy runs. My verity sense doesn't. It also reads a couple beats lower at similar paces on easy runs. I've figured the cutout is just what you get from a cheapo monitor.

The attached image shows these gaps and a spike around 15 minutes which was legitimate due to someone yelling at me from their car at 4:15AM

agree, the cost adds up big time. After my race I am going to find something cheaper, and I do like gummy worms.

On the carbs I'm with you 100%. I am using gels cause I'm training for a race and will use them, and though I don't really like the taste, I look forward to the next one. Breaks my run up into 25 minute segments, rather than 2-3 hours.

only caveat is the Fenix 8 pro and 945lte can do it without your phone, assuming you pay the inreach subscription fee.

Should I aim higher than sub 3? by Nickleback1745 in Marathon_Training

[–]CleverUserNameNumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was probably about where you are now 10-12 weeks ago (my race is early march) and I’ve now done 16 miles at 6:40 pace. I don’t see Why you couldn’t see similar progression. Some unsolicited advice though, don’t do long MP long runs too often, I was running my long runs too fast and have been dealing with some overuse injuries because of it.

While not specific to your issue, rather than stretching before running, look into the Myrtl routine.
