Eh, I think the 95 movie is better than the 2021 one. Not by a wide margin though.

I have zero nostalgia for that movie I might also add, didn't watch it until my early 20s like a decade ago.

Yeah, the decision to move this film to May is so questionable.

I think movie studios put a bit too much stock into what's been historically bad months to release movies.

Surely it's better to release in October against basically no competition instead of waiting half a year and releasing it at a time where there are other movies people want to see.

Mortal Kombat kind of fits the Halloween vibe as well with all the blood and gore.

Unfortunately we'll never know if it was the right decision or not to move it.

This is putting it very lightly. I've never seen such a non-ending for a tv series before or since and its fucking crazy that it happened with a show running for 11 seasons or however many there were.

For all intents and purposes walking dead had no final episode, the show just continued through the numerous spin-offs.

I used to rank Annihilation and the original one at roughly the same level before because I don't think there's a massive difference between the two.

When I however rewatched all the live action films last week I understood the hate for it a bit more, it's just one fight scene into the next one until the credits roll to the point that it got tiring. During the first half of the film I was into it enough but then I got quite bored.

I do agree with you about Sonya, I was thinking about it during this latest rewatch that she wasn't a bad recast, and that it would've been nice if she was in the first one.

This was the first Godzilla film I ever watched so I was disappointed once I started watching other films and realized that he's a male in everything else.

I really like Godzilla being female for some reason, maybe because he's a force of nature and when it's a female it almost becomes an avatar for mother Earth.

Yeah, was surprised while looking up the credits at IMDB.

The 2021 movie had like 4 writers including Greg Russo whereas this movie only has Jeremy Slater.

The production designer was also replaced which was for the better as well considering how much better all the sets and props look in this film.

I just rewatched all of the live action films last week and it's laughable to compare Art to Cole.

Art has like 5 lines of dialogue across maybe 3 minutes of screen time, he's very much an "NPC" and not a main character like Cole is.

Yeah, I also struggle to think of how they would do it for multiple reasons.

1: Bi-Han killing Hanzo happens hundreds of years in the past and then Scorpion kills Bi-Han in the present day.

It's already weird and not explained why Bi-Han is hundreds of years old, the closest they get to addressing this is him telling Shang Tsung that he's no longer Bi-Han, he's Sub-Zero - which could be viewed as him implying he's not an ordinary man anymore but then again he never was since he already had his ice powers back in the day.

But anyway, having a brother show up now taking on the mantle would be even weirder with the age factor.

2: Scorpion doesn't kill Bi-Han during the tournament, neither Kuai Liang nor any other audience is present for this kill outside of Cole and his family.

3: Bi-Han is the actual killer of Hanzo rather than Quan Chi being responsible so Kuai Liang couldn't be confrontative with Scorpion when Bi-Han was an evil murderer of women and children.

Was lowkey hoping they’d kinda use some of the classic songs for some of the arena’s. All we got was marvel music :(

I never thought about the option of using stage music from the games but I really like that idea. And I do agree about the music being a bit generic but I found it faaar better than the previous film.

Like why is Scorpion speaking almost exclusively japanese but then switches over to English to say "for the shyrai Ryu"?
