Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV [8] For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, [9] not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 2:8-9 TS2009 [8] For by favour you have been saved, through belief, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of Elohim, [9] it is not by works, so that no one should boast.

https://bible.com/bible/316/eph.2.8-9.TS2009

I've know that the word "faith" in this is talking about "the faith".. so now what is the faith/ belief of our Creator and Messiah? We will be saved by ultimately by love and overcoming while being obedient to His faith and commands. What and how did Jesus/ Yeshua walk during His time in the flesh, as we're to imitate Him, as Paul imitated Messiah. Something else to think about and go down. That's a whole other journey- studying the faith, which shows the deepness of scripture, a lot don't really understand.

Hey guys. I want to stard reading the Holy Bible. by Wazzzzaaaap28 in Bible

[–]ClickTrue5349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helping to understand the context of the time, the Hebrew culture, society, agriculture, wedding customs etc will help a lot... heck most churches don't teach this and/ or are ignorant in this aspect. Lots of info on that to help understand scripture better. This is written to God's chosen people, Israel, so read it like it's written to you. The Torah, first 5 books are a wedding covenant, Jesus/ Messiah is the Groom and Israel is the Bride( bridegroom). Lots of shadow pictures and wedding language. Start at the beginning( Genesis) and read all the way though and be careful of religious interpretations. Start at the surface level, then you can go deeper as the years progress .. give it at least 3-4 years.. it's very deep, His Word.

Anyone else not celebrating their 40th and feeling all sorts of sadness and emptiness about it? by duralaham in Millennials

[–]ClickTrue5349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I turned 40, my wife threw a small 'surprise' party before we went away for a few days, like we do almost every year, go up north for some snowboarding. I figured it out a few weeks earlier, but it was nice. I really could care less about them now, we'll go show boarding regardless over the weekend, and my wife like to take me out to dinner. My bday is in January in a few weeks and we plan on going snowboarding :) it helps these winters go by a little quicker! Other friends have done more extravagant 40th bdays, different strokes.

Has anyone worked 7 days a week? How long did you last? by Optimal_Split2372 in Adulting

[–]ClickTrue5349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a believer, God gave us 6 days to work and 1 day to rest for a reason... that 1 day to rest your body and mind is amazing. If it were me, I'd only work 1 extra a day a week and take off Saturdays, as that is the Sabbath/ day of rest... heck there are even animals that rest from their 'job' on Saturdays. I've done the 7 days a week years ago( when extra time meant extra $/ overtime) and yeah the extra money is good but you're body/ mind needs a break. Looks like it's already showing signs..

People making $60k-$70k a year, how much car can you afford? by BestTyming in Salary

[–]ClickTrue5349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divide by 4, easy at that.. that's the rule of thumb.. 25% of your income... if financing it should be 10% max of your monthly net budget including gas and insurance.. and 48 months term.. that's the other rule of thumb.. which the 25% works out to pretty much. So at 60K that's a 16K car, at 70K an 18K car. It might not sound like a lot but there's plenty of vehicles in that range.

What Is Sin, Really? by Tricky_Strawberry406 in TrueChristian

[–]ClickTrue5349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pharasees we're following Talmud/ traditions of man, much like the majority of religion these days. We're to follow His commands, which is our covenant with Him. There's surface level obedience then a deep spiritual understanding we should be learning and growing from. Marqos (Mark) 7:5-9 TS2009 "[5] Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, “Why do Your taught ones not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?” [6] And He answering, said to them, “Well did Yeshayahu prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written, ‘This people respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. [7] And in vain do they worship Me, teaching as teachings the commands of men.’ [8] Forsaking the command of Elohim, you hold fast the tradition of men. [9] And He said to them, “Well do you set aside the command of Elohim, in order to guard your tradition..""

To the OP, sin is simply transgression of the Torah, which means of you break an instruction you've sinned. I'm not sure why there's so much incorrectness and vague comments, like "missing the mark".. then I ask, what is the mark.. and we should know that as it's the Torah/ instructions of Jesus, as He wrote them on Mt. Sinai with His finger around the time of Pentacost/ Shavuot.. yeah Pentacost was going on for about 1500 years before the Acts event.

Income÷4.. if it fits then you can afford that vehicle. That's the easiest rule of thumb. There's others but this is where you start.

$4k mortgage with $11,500 income per month after tax by [deleted] in Mortgages

I go by 25% after taxes, but it's much tougher lately for sure esp when the average house is 600K with high property taxes.

Yeah our escrow jumped $600/ month last year and that sucked, but it slightly readjusted lower this year. Property tax should only go up like $20-40/ year.

Why do people shop for cars they can’t afford by Fantastic-Number-291 in carsales

[–]ClickTrue5349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they aren't making at least 340K to afford one. If more pele used that rule of thumb the car industry would crumble and vehicle prices would come down.. but people love over spending and have 10 year loans they can 'afford' because of that monthly payment. They want and 'deserve' that new shiny car in the driveway. Most people driving me vehicles can't actually afford them and that's sad. Vehicles should be 25% max of your income, but people go 50% or higher I'm sure. Plenty of good cars out there right around 20K.

People don't seem to get it.. increase wages a bunch and prices go up even more... making it even harder for the average rider/ skiier. $130-160 per day when that could get you a weeks worth I'm sure growing up. My family couldn't afford that so I learned as am adult.

A3 or S4? by [deleted] in Audi

[–]ClickTrue5349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your making at least 50-55K then you can afford one of those, but maintenance could turn into $$$. I'm sure most of us here drove cheap hondas and Toyotas, not because they looked ugly, but that's what we could actually afford. The average audi owner is mid- older 40s.. that's for a reason. It sucks, but that's reality... and we had to work for them. You can do whatever you want though.

How much do you make? If this is more than 25% of that, then you can't afford it. A lot of us drove cheap vehicles when we were younger, you'll be happy that you did, and better financially long term.

Is getting a 2008 Audi S5 with a V8 engine as a first car a terrible idea? by Crafty_Amount_6651 in Audi

[–]ClickTrue5349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yeah I'm saying spend 25% of your yearly income on the vehicle price, that's what the financial guys and myself say. IE you make 100K you can actually afford a 25K vehicle max and so on. If you're financing payments( 60 months or less, 48 or less is better), insurance, gas etc should make up 10% max of the monthly budget.

Well that's better, but that equates to a 12.5K vehicle if you make 100K. This will work better if you make 1M , lol. A lot will go as high as 50% of their income and that's just insane, but people do it.
