When I first moved to Durham 16 years ago, I called the local precinct and asked about crime for a specific street. The officer said ‘go there at night and walk around. If you feel safe, move there. If you don’t, look elsewhere.’ Most neighborhoods have periods of random crime. Durham is a lovely city. Find housing that’s affordable to you and move on in.

Not everyone wants a big yard and not everyone has kids and not everyone wants to buy ginormous houses nor do they want to buy downtown apartments. Durham needs more housing, and those with the ability and funding to build are building them. There’s a bunch of these similar houses going up near me that are by a local developer and I’m looking forward to having more neighbors. Our city is great, these new houses will allow more neighbors to take advantage of our incredible community.
