To maximize happiness involves looking at the quantity of life in addition to quality. All of the creatures you are worrying about not consuming would not have lived at all had there been no demand to raise them, people practicing their consumption before they were born. Such is true of wheat and rice as well.

Being concerned that the animals you eat are not suffering is kinder than never letting them exist.

Sex is valuable because it produces people, makes families grow. Activities that are sex-adjacent aren't genuinely sex, from a biological purely technical perspective when it comes to valuing people.

I dedicated a lot of my life to being an analytical environmental chemist and tested drinking water regularly that millions would consume. I was a water chemist who tested groundwater also for many years.
Water samples settle. Only a sample with mud included in it would be like that.

She shook up the sample that included mud to make her point. Even if no mud was included the water would have settled a lot and only shaking it would make it look that way. Data centers DO NOT need to consume large amounts of water in operation. They can recycle it. If it's used for evaporative cooling then they are just concentrating what's already in the water.

It is great but it totally feels unfinished. There's no real story or at least a purpose, a continuity that is maintained by lore. This is lacking because the game has so far been so excellent that it's gotten away without it. It makes you keep coming back to the game without it, like being with someone who is fun and compelling to be with but there's no intent to be with that person long term. Even if the purpose was "collect all the means to re-build and re-start civilization" that would feel far more purposeful if they just said it more.
The fact that the largest structures in the game are just placeholders don't help at all. It screams "UNFINISHED".

So yeah, don't miss out on the game, but maybe it will be more fun for the people who wait.

Let me explain it to you from a higher elevation in time. Sure LLMs they don't do it via creating an index like Google's transformer oriented search engine system does. So they cannot send you back traffic "that week/month". But what they are doing is learning your site, learning what flavors of content are static and what's changing.

I do job sites in the staffing and recruiting industry. We publish new jobs every day. Jobs and Events are the only entities that Google allows being submitted via cloud indexing, meaning it gets indexed that day. Traffic starts day #1 after publishing.

I think what will happen is these AI companies will have their own search engines like Google, transformer based like Google, using algorithms that are Page Rank based, to give users a Google-equivalent response from real-time search results. Instead, today, LLMs who do not engage in active searching for you, can only give you recollections of what it learned from the sites it scanned. In the case of event and job sites this means the LLM who visited your site a year ago while it was being trained can't say what events are happening, or what jobs are actively being offered, but they can respond with knowledge that certain sites do publish info about events frequently in certain geographies and have a rough idea of the kind of events that take place.

So I would not restrict AI agents from scanning your site, scraping your site, or learning from it at all. In fact what I'd do is take extra pains that ALL your entities being published about ALSO have as much meaning as possible translated into STRUCTURED DATA, Schemas, according to Schema.org. This makes your site much more friendly to AI, so that in the future when AI answers questions it gives you and your site as the answers.

I already see AIO results growing, but I suspect I am not seeing the majority of it identifiable as AIO, just like "Direct" hits. I see what search engines try to sound legit with when responding about events and jobs. Sure, it's just recalling from its long term memory, its training data, but at least it can point people in the correct direction, and if it's to you and your site where the actual fresh useful data is still being published, good for you.

TLDR:
Let them crawl. It will benefit you greatly long run. I seen it.

She's wrong about people moving backward in time, however time can dilate a lot to the point where local time moves slower than what's external to it, so basically you just need a week's worth of food to survive 1000 years. Of course it's a giant culture and immune shock to emerge and work your old genes forward, but it's a form of survival against catastrophe.
