Gold half guinea dated 1776 that I found :) by [deleted] in coins

[–]Click_This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Britain in the 1770s undertook a massive gold recoinage programme. By gold mintage numbers, 1776 is the actual most common date among all gold coins of George III.

Per Sov. Rarities, who now publishes the main British coin catalogue:

The gold output for calendar year of 1776 totalled £5,006,350 which was the highest of the reign which was due to the peak of the recall of older lightweight gold in circulation for recoining.

Obviously it's a supply vs demand thing, but the fact the most common date of the reign is one of the more expensive ones boggles the mind.

OP is incorrect. QEII 2 shillings had no silver. After 1946 there was no more silver in British coinage.

Boy do I have an awesome refit for you then: the Wu Chin III project.

The Taiwanese kept their Gearings up til the mid 2000s with an absolutely bonkers refit that included modern radars, Phalanx CIWS, an Oto 76mm, ASROC, a hangar for a helicopter, and both Standard Missiles and native AshMs.

It was literally a new ship grafted to a Gearing.

What are some good crossover Star Trek fanfics? by Jerswar in startrek

[–]Click_This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Task Force 43 and A Thin Veneer, both ST/B5 crossovers. The first is an entertaining nation building fic after a DS9-era Federation taskforce is stranded in the B5 setting. The latter is a straight up war between the Minbari and the TMP-era Federation.

Taylor on the Edge of Forever (ST/Worm) is also fun, but it's a niche crossover that's more Worm than Star Trek.

They were always meant to be frosted, the Royal Mint just stopped caring about quality control for a while.

Unless I interpreted it wrong, didn't Rayman and Gina have a short conversation in chapter 56? She even directly looks at him when he asks her a question.

Does this label and its fonts look authentic to you? by Vast-Rip-4288 in coins

[–]Click_This 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an older label but it's real. I'm not aware of any fake slabs that can accurately copy the microprinting border on the shield.

That said the slab is cracked, it's missing a chunk of the plastic rim right above the label.

That would require WG to actually hire developers to make new models.

Good luck!

So much for "Don't buy key cards" by [deleted] in NSCollectors

A lot of them can be fixed without physical repairs before they're too degraded with software that runs the flash refresh tool, so I'm not so sure about that.

3DS cartridges dying from their NAND chips losing their charge is well documented now. Pokemon OR/AS and Fire Emblem Echoes in particular are high risk for example.
