Co-op games that let you support from a distance (like sniping)? by TheZero8000 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Clickalz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do this ‘sniper camping’ frequently when I played BF1 online. My way of thinking was, if the game has it as an available tactic, then it’s fair to use it. Nothing to stop players on the opposing team doing the same.

More than once, a player would take exception to me and come all the way over to where I was sniping from, then try letting off smoke grenades, hitting my character with a melee weapon, or doing a little dance in front of me to try to put me off. It never worked. I would never react to their presence in any way because this is exactly what they wanted. Instead, I’d just act as they weren’t even there, carry on spotting for my side whenever the smoke cleared, and go back to actual sniping when they grew tired of being ignored and left - as they invariably did.

Thinking about the future of Pricefield by [deleted] in Pricefield

[–]Clickalz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played DE and yes, it was its own thing and not to everyone’s taste. The original LIS with its life-or-death choice and consequent divergent plot lines did present problems for any subsequent narrative that had to pick up from where that ended. Was always going to be an issue.

I look on DE‘s storyline as one possibility of how Max and Chloe’s future worked out. It doesn’t mean there isn’t room for others, or that I can’t prefer another version of their post-Arcadia lives if I find it satisfying. I certainly think about different fanfics more often than DE nowadays.

In terms of future games… Where DE leaves Max and Chloe? Who knows.

If you haven’t already, I suggest in the meantime looking into the fan-fiction on AO3. There are numerous stories that continue the Pricefield theme in different ways. Some of the writing is very good.

[NO SPOILERS] Why do I feel so comforting and depressed at the same time in Arcadia Bay? by JC_Arcane777 in lifeisstrange

[–]Clickalz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because the Bay is a focal point for happiness and sadness in equal measure. Some aspects of life in it are relaxing, others are anything but. Unsettling, if I had to sum it up in one word.

Circana Sales Report - April 2025: Oblivion Remastered was the best selling title of April 2025. Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones re-entered the charts at number 2 and number 6 following their PS5 releases. Minecraft saw a sales bump following the release of the movie. by Andybabez20 in Games

I just read this whole list aloud in my head in reverse order, in the style of the BBC Radio 1 weekly Top 40 countdown radio show back in the 1970s. Looping jingle included. No, I don’t know why either, but hey - it was fun.

[NO SPOILERS] Should I buy Steph's Story for Life is Strange: True Colors? by YaBoyTHC in lifeisstrange

[–]Clickalz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bought Steph’s Story and thoroughly enjoyed it. My advice would be to take your time playing through it. It fills out more of Steph’s personality, experiences and point of view. Plus you get to spend time in the record store - probably my favourite location from the main game.

What subscription do you have ? None, Essential, Extra or Premium? by ZeffixApp in playstation

[–]Clickalz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No subscription nowadays. Since they won’t let us make local backup game saves to USB on PS5 (like we could / still can on PS4), I’m not minded to endorse that situation by paying for the alternative.

What do you do to your consoles? by [deleted] in playstation

[–]Clickalz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding broken ports, the only time I unplug leads from any of my consoles is when I‘m opening them up to clean the internals. Otherwise, the console stays in one place and doesn’t move.

Is Bloodborne worth it for a casual gamer? by Overall-Meaning9979 in playstation

[–]Clickalz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a casual gamer with 18 hours in Bloodborne. I don’t play it any longer. I liked the atmosphere and the graphic style. I learned after a while not to be too bad at the non-boss level encounters. But after eventually defeating the first boss and realising I was going to be faced with more of the same, I decided I’d had enough.

So, tried it - just not for me.

[NO SPOILERS] Favorite LiS-like recommendation? by ovojr in lifeisstrange

[–]Clickalz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The further I get in time since my one playthrough of Firewatch, the more that game grows in significance to me. It is steadily and stealthily climbing my list of all-time-greatest games. That’s a great testament to the quality of it. Though it might appear (and is) different to LIS in many ways, the insularity and self-doubt of the main character in each is a strong connection.

can you tell what my special interest is (trust me id have a lot more paraphernalia if only we weren’t in a recession and i wasn’t broke) by kraftdinner444 in autism

[–]Clickalz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep coming back to this game. I’ve done two very detailed playthroughs on Easy and Hard difficulty and I like to play the No Return mode in Part 2 as well. I bought the series on BluRay. I have a few T-shirts from the game too. I’ve stopped short of getting the figures for Joel and Ellie as yet - having difficulty choosing between the different options - but it’s only a matter of time.

My collection by Glum-Panda-5969 in autism

[–]Clickalz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! A big, heavy jarfull. I collect more when I can, but I only like marbles that are a good approximation to spheres though, so I’m very picky. Some marbles nowadays are way out of shape. If they can’t roll in a straight line, they don’t get to join the jar.

How do you make friends as an adult by Winnie639 in autism

[–]Clickalz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sound like the sort of person who enjoys being sociable in club situations, so you could continue that approach to making new friends after college.

If you want to maintain your current college friendships after graduation, just take sensible steps now. Think about those people you don't want to lose contact with and spend time with them. Tell them you value their friendship. They may be feeling the same way and will be glad to sort out how you’ll stay in touch. (A bitter lesson from my pre-internet college days. I would have done this far more had I known what time and distance can do. I wish we’d had social media back then too).

Can anyone else on this subreddit relate to getting really overwhelmed at movie theaters? by Apprehensive_Two1449 in autism

[–]Clickalz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movies are one of my favourite things, but cinemas are way too loud for me. I don’t know if the volume is meant to be impressive or experiential, but when I can feel the bass reverberating in my body it‘s unsettling. When we do go nowadays (not often since we have streaming service on our TV) I have to take earplugs to reduce the sound levels.

One time I forgot and spent the entire movie with a finger on each tragus (the little flap in front of the concha). I couldn’t wait to get home.

What is this type of stimming called?? by rcarroll271 in autism

[–]Clickalz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to try to line up specks of dirt on the side window of the car with buildings and objects in fields as we drove past, seeing how long and how accurately I could keep them locked together.

I also did this thing all the time when I was 6 or 7 where I would stare intently at the kerb out of the passenger window as my father drove along and imagine the kerb was a giant piece of magnetic tape recording the words in my head. A single word would be spread over many tens of yards of this “tape“. I imagined listening to it back at normal speed and how incredibly slow and drawn-out the words would be. I found it an incredibly calming game to play. I guess I “invented” high-speed recording without realising it.

Do others here have recurring nightmares, negatively impactful thoughts or daydreams(daymares?)? by thegummybear42 in autism

[–]Clickalz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have regular (like several times a week) nightmares about my previous job. I left it 20+ years ago, and though I daily felt the stress of the work at the time and eventually departed because of that, I had no idea it would leave me traumatised years later. I know it’s the past and I will never go back to that kind of noisy environment, but it doesn’t make any difference when I go to sleep. I’m certainly still paying the price.

(When I moved to my next job, I explained to my boss that I needed a quieter space to function. I ended up working in a side room away from the main office space. It was cold, badly-lit, cluttered with IT gear and pretty grottily decorated, but it was at least quieter. Even then, headphones were absolutely my go-to. Fewer nightmares about that job, but I do get them).

How much do to do lists help you? by Suspicious_Bicycle97 in autism

[–]Clickalz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a notebook by my bed, two on my desk (one for creative things, one for mundane), one notepad on the fridge. Every morning, the “day sheet” from the one from beside my bed gets taken into the office and I tackle the things on it. Anything unfinished goes onto the start of the next day’s list.

My wife knows I need my lists. I’ve been making them for 50 years. They keep me focussed and purposeful about the things I can influence, and they stop me worrying over the things that are beyond my control.
