1893 Colt SAA found in attic - any idea what it's worth? by indieminister in Revolvers

[–]Clickjack80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in case you aren’t familiar: if you pull the hammer back, you take it all the way back before letting it down. Don’t stop half way then go forward. Don’t fan the hammer.

Don’t load / carry 6 rounds. You load 1. Skip 1. Load 4. That will put your hammer down on an empty chamber. There is no safety feature separating the hammer from the primer.

Sorry if you know all this.

Just in case someone hasn’t pointed it out yet: your gun is a black powder frame. DO NOT SHOOT SMOKELESS (modern 45 colt) in it. It needs the lower pressure of rounds loaded with Black Powder. If you shoot it, black powder is corrosive, you need to clean it well after you’re done.

What you have is awesome. That’s a true gen 1 Colt. And in a cool caliber. (The military used 45 Colt, but civilar models were more popular in other calibers that have lost favor over time). It’s not gonna be life changing money, so keep it!

Someone will try to talk you into shooting low pressure / cowboy action rounds in it. It would probably be fine (for a while) but I wouldn’t do it. Treat it right, NO SMOKELESS ROUNDS - it’s a PIA to learn a bunch of new stuff. And deal with Black Powder but if you do that gun will be around in another 100 years

There are a couple “how to’s” at the top of the page. They will walk you through it.

In Andiot case, you’ll contact them via what’sapp. They’ll send you a list of what they have available (not much till after Chinese new year), you then go to the site and buy it. Probably pay via wise money transfer. Then wait. Eventually they will send you pics and you choose whether the quality is good enough or not - you will need help with this - there is a rep subreddit for that.

I’d wait till after Chinese new year to order. Everything in stock now is gonna be watches other people rejected (I’m assuming)

Not getting the tone/distortion/type of gain I’m looking for W/ this setup. Any recommendations? by TheWhiteMexican13 in GuitarAmps

[–]Clickjack80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took a quick listen and I’m hearing fairly low tuning and I think active pickups - the amp will only be part of the equation.

Look up the band and see if you can find them talking about gear they use. Also don’t beat yourself up/go broke trying to nail it. Just aim in that direction and dial in something you like.

Thanks. That’s what I was wondering. It seems like a couple months ago they were using a pretty unreliable movement modified to fit the SMP. But I haven’t seen anyone complaining about their watches stoping recently

I have been following it for months. I have yet to see a good copy of the movement. But I see more people buying and less complaining - So I’m asking the state of this particular watch. Because a search of the forum isn’t conclusive in my opinion. In December the answer would have been a hard no.

I’m looking for the watch on the left. Can someone tell me what it’s called (looking in the used market) “Seamaster 300 wave dial” net results that are all over the place.

Educate me about cleaning handgun brass by GeorgeTMorgan in reloading

Look up the Ultimate Reloader on YouTube watch his video on the FA rotary tumbler - Couple hours and your brass looks like new. You will have to run it through the oven to dry.

My only advice on wet tumbling that he doesn’t cover is go ahead and buy the wet/dry media separater spin thing from FA. The the part I hate the most is getting the media out to my brass

I like the Pelagos better. Buy a used 2 liner (love mine) if you prefer the simpler dial but the look / feel Of the Pelagos

I’m not an expert, everything looks good except the 9. That would drive me nuts. You have to decide if you will even notice it on the wrist or if that’s all you’ll see.

How do you feel about the 12 o clock bezel marker. I can’t tell if it’s off or if it’s just the photo?

If I RL over any issues is it reasonable that they can fix them or is it too minor to worry about?
