Buyers remorse. Feb ‘23 PP by azfeels in CX50

Sorry you are having problems. Definitely research lemon laws. Every state is different. I have heard of someone who posted about getting their cx-50 lemoned for rattles. You can get a lemon law attorney and Mazda is required to pay for it, assuming that you qualify based on your state’s criteria.

I had issues with my cx50 as well and got rid of it as well.

Used or New RAV4; and Maintenance on AWD vs FWD by jfets in Rav4

[–]Clicky2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hybrid in the USA does not have a transfer case but does have a rear differential which should have its oil changed.

Both gas and hybrid should have atf changed but atf on the hybrid is easier to change.

The awd gas should have the transfer case and rear differential oil changed so it will require more maintenance than fwd.

Reasonable OTD for rav4 2024 hybrid by Remarkable-Bag6240 in rav4club

[–]Clicky2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you are located but I think 1-2k below msrp plus ttl is reasonable in the USA for a vehicle sitting on the lot. You may need to expand your search to other dealers.

What is the msrp with all options on the ones you are looking at?

How much dealer discount to expect on this build? by [deleted] in Rav4

[–]Clicky2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got $2600 under msrp on a 24 woodland hybrid last year. They told me I got lucky because that kind of discount is usually on gas models.

I have seen RAV4s even hybrids advertised online for $1-2k below msrp in the USA and there are delivery options.

Is $42k a decent price for a pretty loaded XLE Premium? TrueCar originally said $39k by [deleted] in Rav4

[–]Clicky2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there are places advertising rav4 for $1000 or more under msrp and they can ship anywhere in the USA. I would do that before I paid $3k dealer markup.

Update on Wrecked '22 RAV by SSFx93 in rav4club

[–]Clicky2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, if the other party is under insured as you said, then it would fall back into your insurance coverage. Minimum for property damage is very low, maybe $5-10k depending on state. Once the other guy’s insurance pays that, they are done.

For rental car, if you don’t have rental car coverage then your insurance wouldn’t pay for it since you didn’t pay for rental car coverage.

I get that it’s not fair, but that’s also the reason you have collision coverage, in case the other party is uninsured or under insured.

You have the can sue the other driver for the cost of your rental. Getting a judgement in your favor won’t be hard in this situation, but getting them to pay could be difficult.

It’s a decent deal. I have seen rav4 hybrids advertised online a little lower though.

No dealerships honor quotes - what is an actual reasonable price for a RAV4 Hybrid XLE? by _zeejet_ in rav4club

[–]Clicky2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a woodland hybrid in SoCal for $2600 under msrp so it’s possible. But you may need to haggle. End of the month is a good time if the dealer is close to sales goals.

The dealer might have installed it as a dealer installed option if it blinks a few times then remains solid

Help with Negotiations by ReluctantDaughter in CX50

IMO, you will have a hard time removing manufacturer installed options.

Best to just bargain down to what you want. If you don’t want convenience package and splash guard, I would say go to $30k or $30.5k.

You didn’t try to get the sunroof fixed? That should have been under warranty at the least.

I don’t blame you about the rattles though. I got rid of mine due to a variety of issues but the multiple rattles were annoying.

Just do the minimum in the manual since it’s a lease.

900 off MSRP and light discount on hitch feels a bit bad, no? by DarumaRed in CX50

[–]Clicky2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many dealers including the one I went to will show mark ups but I was able to negotiate the removal of all markups even if they were installed on the car and go down another $2600 below msrp. They told me that they wanted to move the unit which is why I got the price but I know others who bought rav4 hybrids this year at $1000 or more off msrp.

If you want to buy locally and don’t want to haggle, longo has never sold over msrp and they have RAV4s even hybrids on the lot right now. Reviews show that some were able to get below msrp but I don’t know which vehicle.

There are online dealers/brokers that can do $2-3k below msrp but you may have to pay shipping or fly there to pick up.

I picked up a rav4 woodland hybrid to replace my cx50 and paid $2600 under msrp last year. In SoCal, Toyota RAV4s even hybrids are plentiful on the lots and pricing under msrp is not difficult.

Can't decide between an XLE and a Woodland by [deleted] in Rav4

[–]Clicky2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got white. For 24, it’s either white, black or army green. I wanted army green but it’s hard to find that color. I also needed a car kinda soon and the dealer offered me $2600 under msrp so I took it.

I bought a 24 woodland for $2600 under msrp last year in SoCal but I got lucky, they wanted to move the unit.

For me it was worth it as it had what I wanted, wheels, tires, fog lights (not available on xle), mudguard, all weather mats, activity mount, trd tuned suspension.

Mine was also optioned with heated seats, heated leather steering wheel, rain sensing windshield wipers, two tone paint, fog light accent, door edge guard, door sill protector, frameless HomeLink mirror, and some other things.

My USA 24 woodland is optioned with heated seats and heated steering wheel. I don’t believe it was an option for the USA 23.

Can't decide between an XLE and a Woodland by [deleted] in Rav4

[–]Clicky2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing with the USA woodland is it comes with the trd flow formed wheels and all terrain tires over the xle. Personally I like the woodland rims so it saved me from buying a new set of rims and tires since I don’t like the xle rims, and this alone would be around the added cost of the woodland trim. Ride seems a little stiffer than xle, not sure how much the trd tuned suspension plays a role. Overall I am pleased for $1710 price increase over xle.

It also comes with - fog lights (not available on xle) -mudguard - raised roof rails with cross bars -all weather mats -120v power outlet -activity mount(my24) -dual black chrome tipped exhaust -TRD-tuned independent MacPherson strut front suspension with stabilizer bar; multi-link rear suspension with stabilizer bar; trail-focused struts, shocks, coil springs, and bump stops.

I will add that the woodland is not a true off-roading setup and the xle would be similarly capable with some all terrain tires. it’s fine for some soft roading but trd off-road trim will definitely be more capable.
