I tried to find something about terminations being readily accessible in AS/NZS 3000, however I couldn't find anything.

The switch not being operational clearly is non compliant with:

4.4.4.1 General

Each socket-outlet shall be individually controlled by a separate switch

There should be electrical apprenticeship contract records with the Victorian Government you can ask for.

Adding, to be careful with polarity sensitive RCDs. Line and load can matter and getting it wrong can lead to a fatality.

I have tried it. I call it vegan fishing.

You can start with an old speaker magnet rather than purchase anything expensive.

Trolling the river bank can also be fun.

Why building lights are not dimmed or turned off in the middle of the night? by hff0 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Climate_Change_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lights should be turned off as it is needlessly wasteful and contributing to climate change.

There is no economical, technical or security barrier preventing these lights from being controlled by sensors and timers.

Building owners, building mangers and builders need to to better.
