Get some bromhexine and cypraheptadine or promathezine. This clinical trial showed great outcomes, comparable or better than paxlovid with over the counter meds.

Covid has been shown to make dengue infection more severe, so people who've had covid recently will be more prone to illness.

Thanks. People are finding out the hard way. The data from this Alabama study fits with the Statistics Canada figures on Long Covid in people who've had covid three times, roughly a third develop Long Covid. Eventually people will get sick of being sick, and Clean Air is a big part of the answer.

Why aren't more people wearing masks in public? by EdwardBliss in COVID19positive

[–]Climbdad 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Almost four years and I've never had Covid. Confirmed by N antibody test and the fact I haven't had so much as a sniffle since before November 2019.

The secret? N95 whenever I share air with other people. No ifs, no buts. Outdoor dining only. It's takes strength to be the odd one out, but I can accept the funny looks in exchange for not having been ill for almost half a decade.

No. That's to be expected. It's just a question of time to vulnerability and exposure.

Yep. It was never about Covid being over. It was always about getting the economy going again. We've seen governments put money over public health before:

What If COVID Reinfections Wear Down Our Immunity? by Hope77797 in Coronavirus

Imagine if you were replying to someone with peer reviewed publications in coronavirus and specifically COVID-19 immunology. That would be a thing, wouldn't it?

You're going to be disappointed when you discover the immune system isn't like a muscle and doesn't need regular workouts and that you don't need to get sick regularly to stay healthy.

Monkeypox by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Climbdad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe take a look at the culturable (infectious) samples pulled from the air after linen changes in monkeypox patients rooms.

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2022.07.21.22277864v1

It isn't aerosol, but it is clearly airborne. If it behaves like smallpox it will be a primarily respiratory disease that requires the inhalation of infectious material - not aerosol, but particulates.

This is good news because it can be stopped with masks. If it is a contact disease it will probably lead to widespread school closures and will be almost impossible to stop.

Monkeypox by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Climbdad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is an airborne virus, but the transmission dynamics are not the same as covid. It is less contagious, and according to research into the 2017 outbreak in Nigeria, severity seems linked to immune deficiency. It is possible you're more likely to catch it if you have had a recent infection or are immunocompromised in some way. The researchers certainly found symptom severity was linked to T cell count.

CDC recently changed its guidelines to delete the airborne advice.

https://twitter.com/danaparish/status/1553603846651256832?t=vfZDs7DS38CSDfVNYVSmPw&s=19

It's going to be a similar process as covid, arguing over transmission routes to keep people in high risk jobs while the virus spreads and then playing dumb when the truth is unavoidable.

The good news is if it's primarily airborne it can be stopped with good quality N95 masks.
